Jalangkote is a typical Makassar ethnic snack in South Sulawesi, whose shape is similar to pastel cake. The difference is that pastel has a thicker skin than jalangkote and if pastel is eaten with cayenne pepper, jalangkote is eaten with liquid chili sauce mixed with vinegar and chili.

Jalangkote adalah makanan ringan khas Etnik Makassar di Sulawesi Selatan, yang bentuknya serupa dengan kue pastel. Bedanya pastel memiliki kulit yang lebih tebal dibandingkan jalangkote dan bila pastel dimakan bersama cabai rawit, jalangkote dimakan bersama sambal cair campuran cuka dan cabai.
