Sop brother is a typical dish from South Sulawesi (precisely from Pangkajene and Islands Regency) in the form of a soupy dish made from beef which is usually served with complementary ingredients such as vermicelli, potato cakes, beef offal (for example, fried lung), and boiled eggs. This is commonly consumed with white rice and grilled milkfish.


The unique name Sop Brother was chosen because it was inspired by the name "coto paraikatte" (usually used as the name of a shop that sells Coto Makassar). In Makassar language "paraikatte" means "brother" or "fellow".Sop brother is not much different from Coto Makassar, both are made from the same raw material, namely beef. The difference is, vermicelli and potato cakes are added to your soup soup and milk is usually added to the soup which gives a sweet sensation to your soup soup.

Sop saudara merupakan masakan khas dari Sulawesi Selatan (tepatnya dari Kabupaten Pangkajene dan Kepulauan) berupa hidangan berkuah dengan bahan dasar daging sapi yang biasanya disajikan bersama bahan pelengkap seperti bihun, perkedel kentang, jeroan sapi (misalnya, paru goreng), dan telur rebus.Masakan ini umum dikonsumsi bersama dengan nasi putih dan ikan bandeng bakar.


Nama Sop Saudara yang unik ini dipilih karena terinspirasi dari nama "coto paraikatte" (biasa dijadikan nama warung yang menjual Coto Makassar). Dalam bahasa Makassar "paraikatte" berarti "saudara" atau "sesama".

Sop saudara tidak jauh berbeda dengan Coto Makassar, keduanya berbahan baku yang sama yaitu daging sapi. Perbedaannya, pada kuah sop saudara ditambahkan bihun dan perkedel kentang serta biasanya kuah yang ditambahkan susu yang memberikan sensasi manis pada kuah sop saudara.
