The primary difference in equity vs. contribution Texas startups is that investors get direct possession in the firm in exchange for their investments - be it shares of stock in a corporation, or units of possession in an LLC. So instead of a tshirt from the next iteration of business giants like Twitter, or Google, LinkedIn, Facebook, investors will get to go along for the ride and share in the following tide of new company success (and yes, failure).
