Environmental damage that occurs in regions is often caused by inappropriate government policies and neglect of environmental regulations. Local governments have a responsibility to protect natural resources and ensure sustainable development. There needs to be integration between development policies and environmental protection, as well as community participation in decision making. Strict law enforcement and educating the public are also important to increase awareness of environmental issues.
