In the 2024 regional head elections, regional head candidates should no longer need to sell grandiose promises. One of the most urgent issues that must be prioritized is creating jobs for youth. The reality in South Sulawesi is very clear: there are many young people with degrees and skills who are unemployed! What does it mean for us to be highly educated, only to end up as educated unemployed? Decent job opportunities that match our abilities are still very limited. At best, we can only pray that we do not migrate to look for work abroad. South Sulawesi should be able to become more independent. With so much potential in the tourism, agriculture, technology and creative industry sectors, the local government must proactively manage this to create jobs. The next elected leader must have the courage to break the bureaucracy that has been hampering investment, provide incentives that are real and truly felt by MSME and creative industry players, and encourage training programs that are not just a formality. We need action, not just promises! We young people have the right to live a decent life in our own country. So, for those of you who are tired of promises, it's time to vote for candidates who have concrete plans and real solutions. If employment is not a priority, then where will our future take us?  +

As Indonesia celebrates its 100th year of independence, it is projected to experience a demographic bonus. This means that the working-age population between 15 and 64 years old will significantly outnumber those aged 65 and above. The working-age population in Indonesia is expected to constitute more than 60% of the total population. To fully capitalize on this demographic dividend, it is imperative that the nation equips itself with robust technological capabilities. This is because internet-based social networks have become an integral part of contemporary human life, giving rise to numerous new trends and cultures. Education should therefore be positioned as the solution to the myriad of challenges faced by the nation, such as corruption, curriculum issues, intolerance, and the proliferation of hate speech. One explanation for why our education system has been unable to address these societal problems is the lack of emphasis on deductive reasoning in the learning process. The deductive paradigm tends to overlook empirical experiences and daily life as integral parts of the learning process. One explanation for our education system's inability to address the nation's various problems is the lack of emphasis on deductive reasoning in the learning process. The deductive paradigm tends to disregard empirical experiences and daily life as integral components of the learning process. Consequently, learners find it difficult to comprehend and master the learning materials due to their distance from real-world experiences. Yet, the essence of education lies in experience. Therefore, daily experiences constitute the most crucial laboratory in education. In South Sulawesi, many rural areas in both districts and cities still lack equitable access to education. While students in urban areas return home with new ideas and perspectives, what about those in remote villages with suboptimal teaching management and inadequate school facilities? One example is an elementary school in Kale Lantang village, Polong Bangkeng Selatan district, Takalar. Unlike other schools, this school has a low enrollment, resulting in insufficient BOS funds to adequately support the teaching process. The amount of BOS funds allocated to a school is largely determined by its student population. If the national government doesn't pay attention to this problem, then local governments and villages must step up and make sure that all children have the same opportunities to learn. They can do this by making new local laws or by simply making good decisions. Local leaders should focus on helping people, especially when it comes to education. They shouldn't just build buildings, but also make sure that children learn well. The quality of our future leaders should be a top priority in the upcoming elections.Candidates competing in the 2024 Regional Elections should prioritize the education sector. In accordance with the National Education System Law, 20% of the national budget has been allocated to education. It is now time for this to be followed by the allocation of 20% of regional budgets to education as well, at both the district/city and provincial levels. This will empower every citizen with knowledge, enabling them to overcome crises of role modeling, morality, and integrity.

I really feel sad for small children or underage children who sell or earn a living on the side of the road and don't get an education. I really ask the local government to pay attention to these children who should get facilities in the form of education because usually their parents of these children experience financial problems that prevent their children from going to school or getting an education, therefore they ask their children to help them earn a living in the wrong way, in this way it can also usually have many negative impacts, for example on children." Nowadays, there is a lack of education or perhaps the area where they earn a living is very prone to accidents which could cause harm to their children. I also hope that the government can follow up on this problem so that all children in Makassar can experience what is called school and get an education so that their future can be brighter.  +
Of course, in this era or era, the relationship between fellow human beings needs to be considered, especially if they are someone who really needs it. Especially when facing an environmental crisis and the occurrence of heated political issues so that the rulers or some individuals who govern or coordinate facilities in an area are less responsive to someone who does not have the same fate as this individual. Public services in the current era need to be considered, those who cannot meet their needs for clothing, food, and shelter, and those who lack education put forward a hope that they want to fulfill but lack a date for a facility. due to the lack of adequate public facilities. Health facilities such as hospitals are often overwhelmed, especially during a pandemic, with limited capacity and a lack of health workers and also discrimination from the poor. In addition, the infrastructure for handling natural disasters, especially to deal with floods, is still minimal, causing slow recovery and major losses. In remote areas, educational facilities are inadequate, so access to quality education is limited. In addition, in areas with high poverty rates, access to basic services such as clean water and sanitation is very limited. The solution that is certainly very much hoped for is the development of more structured health and education facilities and human resources within them, improving disaster infrastructure especially for those who lack information or lack education, and improving public services in poor areas, that is what I can hope for which can be the focus of regional head candidates to improve the quality of life of the community.  +
Lately I feel very hot in Makassar. I think it might be because of the lack of green trees in the Makassar area. The lack of government attention might also affect this issue. They can cool off in an air-conditioned room, right? Can they also feel the heat like the people who don't have air conditioning?  +
Social issues in large cities, such as Makassar, have increasingly drawn public attention. Anarchic incidents like muggings, illegal fees (pungli), and aggressive beggars have made many residents feel uncomfortable carrying out their daily activities. These conditions not only create insecurity but also disrupt the order and comfort of the environment. One of the frequent issues in Makassar is the growing number of aggressive beggars, especially in tourist areas like Losari Beach. Beggars operating in public places often force visitors to give money, spoiling the atmosphere that should be pleasant. This phenomenon disturbs both tourists and local residents who want to enjoy their leisure time. To address this, local leaders need to take serious measures. One solution is to impose strict regulations regarding beggars in tourist spots. Surveillance must be enhanced, and facilities should be provided to rehabilitate beggars so they can receive social assistance and training to become self-reliant. In addition to beggars, the practice of pungli is also a major issue that troubles the public. Pungli often occurs in various forms, such as illegal parking fees or entry tickets to free events being charged by irresponsible individuals. This practice harms the community and tarnishes the image of local government. To resolve this, future leaders must decisively combat pungli by forming special task forces to monitor such activities on the ground. The public also needs to be educated about their rights so that they are less likely to become victims of pungli. Moreover, street crimes like muggings are among the most unsettling issues in Makassar. These crimes not only cause material loss but also trauma for the victims. To address this, local leaders should increase city security by enhancing police patrols, especially in crime-prone areas. However, the approach should not be limited to law enforcement. The government must also think of long-term solutions by providing education and training to communities that are vulnerable to engaging in criminal activities. Criminals often come from backgrounds with limited access to education or decent jobs, so improving the welfare of the community can be a solution to prevent future crimes. Economic factors are often the main reason why people choose anarchic paths, whether by becoming beggars, engaging in pungli, or getting involved in crime. Therefore, local leaders should focus on empowering the economy of the community. Skill training programs and job creation should be expanded so that people have better alternatives for meeting their needs. With the right policies, local governments can create a safer and more comfortable environment for their residents. Strict law enforcement, combined with sustainable economic empowerment efforts, will help reduce anarchic actions and improve the well-being of the community.

In my opinion, a candidate for regional leadership should prioritize local economic development, improving the quality of education, and better healthcare access. Additionally, infrastructure improvements and environmental preservation should be key focuses to ensure sustainable development.  +
I'm not comfortable because there are so many people setting up stalls on the sidewalks that should be intended for pedestrians. So where are pedestrians going to walk if the sidewalks are all stalls? It's not surprising that many pedestrians end up walking on roads that are supposed to be for vehicles, the worst thing is that accidents can happen, which is very dangerous because it can cause casualties. So regional head candidates should pay attention to people who are irresponsible because they build stalls in places that should belong to pedestrians. and also regarding the zebra crossing, as it seems it has no function other than making a street motif because there are still many people who cross the road carelessly. Maybe it doesn't matter if the street is quiet, what if it's busy? It is also detrimental for motorists because they have to wait for them to pass first. Sometimes there are also those who are not careful when riding motorbikes so that at full speed they could hit us, then end up arguing again. and as we know, Makassar people often don't want to budge  +

Makassar, as one of the largest cities and economic hubs in Eastern Indonesia, holds significant potential to become an international standard city. However, one persistent issue is hindering the city’s development and frustrating its residents: the increasing number of illegal parking attendants. Not only has their number grown, but their practices are also unfair and burdensome to the public. Currently, parking attendants are not only a financial burden on residents, but they also reduce the convenience and security of daily activities in the city. Imagine withdrawing Rp50,000 from an ATM, only to be forced to give Rp2,000 to a parking attendant. This means you walk away with only Rp48,000. While Rp2,000 may seem small, when multiplied by daily activities—for instance, if someone stops at 10 different locations in a day, each with a parking attendant—the total paid out reaches Rp20,000 just for parking. That money could be used for more essential things, like buying drinking water or saving for future needs. It becomes an unnecessary burden on residents that could easily be avoided. More troubling is that when valuables are lost in a parking area, the attendants often take no responsibility. They claim that any losses are the individual's responsibility. If that’s the case, what is the point of paying for parking? The role of parking attendants should be to provide security, but this is not the reality. Moreover, there’s a common sentiment among some that "Rp2,000 won’t make you poor." However, those small amounts, when accumulated, can have a significant impact, especially for lower-income communities. The Makassar city government must take immediate and decisive action to address this problem. Several solutions could be implemented. First, the government could eliminate illegal parking attendants and replace the parking system with a more structured one, such as employing official parking officers who are paid through citizens' taxes. This way, residents who shop or stop at public places would no longer have to pay parking fees. This would also increase transparency and accountability. Additionally, the government could strengthen the presence of authorities such as police, transportation officers, or security personnel in public areas. Their presence would ensure the safety and comfort that illegal parking attendants currently fail to provide. With this implemented, residents wouldn’t have to worry about losing their belongings or facing discomfort while parking in public spaces. The existence of illegal parking attendants also fosters an unhealthy social dynamic. Many people view working as a parking attendant as an easy way to make money quickly, without much responsibility. Vehicles that stop for only a moment are charged parking fees, creating the impression that working as a parking attendant is a shortcut to earning income without hard work. This can weaken the work ethic and discourage the pursuit of more productive, sustainable jobs. If Makassar wants to be a world-class city, urban management, including parking, must be improved. Major cities around the world typically have well-developed public transportation systems and organized parking facilities, so residents and tourists don’t have to worry about harmful illegal parking practices. Eliminating illegal parking and implementing better regulations would enhance Makassar’s image as a modern, welcoming city for all. In conclusion, transforming Makassar from a “Kota Parkir” to a “Kota Dunia” is not impossible. With the right policies and real actions from the government, residents will experience significant benefits. Irresponsible and disruptive parking practices must be eliminated and replaced with an orderly system that supports the city’s growth. This is a crucial step in making Makassar a more comfortable, safe, and world-class city.
Equitable and quality access to education is very important to improve the quality of human resources in the region. Prospective regional heads must ensure that scholarship programs, school facilities and teacher quality are priorities.  +
As a regional head, the issue of congestion and public transportation is one of the biggest challenges that must be overcome immediately. Every day, residents experience mobility difficulties due to traffic jams which hamper economic and social activities. One of the main causes is the growth in the number of private vehicles which is not commensurate with the existing road infrastructure. For this reason, I will focus on developing public transportation that is more effective, modern and environmentally friendly. This program includes increasing public transport capacity, adding bus and train lines, and encouraging the use of electric vehicles among the public. Apart from that, it is necessary to implement policies that support the development of green transportation infrastructure, such as providing safe and comfortable bicycle lanes. By having an efficient and environmentally friendly transportation system, we not only reduce the level of congestion but also reduce the level of air population which can threaten public health. These programs can be supported by educational campaigns to encourage people to choose public transportation over private vehicles, thereby creating smoother and more sustainable mobility.  +

Improving agricultural infrastructure in Sidrap Regency is essential to increase the productivity and competitiveness of the agricultural sector. Good infrastructure, such as roads, irrigation, and stofacilities, allows farmers to access markets more easily and speeds up the distribution of agricultural products. An effective irrigation system will ensure the availability of water, which is essential for increasing crop yields. In addition, improving infrastructure will help farmers sell their products at better prices, reducing losses due to crop damage. It also contributes to regional economic development by attracting investment and creating jobs. Thus, improving agricultural infrastructure will optimize the potential of natural resources in Sidrap and improve the welfare of the community as a whole. Therefore, if there is a decline in agricultural infrastructure in Sidrap Regency, it will have a significant impact on the agricultural sector and the local economy. First, poor infrastructure hinders the distribution and access of farmers to agricultural tools and materials, so that agricultural production decreases. In addition, the lack of a good irrigation system can cause problems in water management and soil quality, threatening the sustainability of agriculture in the area. Declining crop yields also have an impact on farmers' incomes, which can increase poverty levels. In difficult situations, some farmers may be forced to migrate to cities, which reduces the number of workers in the agricultural sector. This leads to threats to local food security, increasing dependence on imports. Therefore, improving agricultural infrastructure is very important to overcome this problem, increase productivity, and strengthen the local economy. Improving agricultural infrastructure in Sidenreng Rappang (Sidrap) Regency must be improved because it can improve people's welfare, alleviate poverty, increase rice production, optimize the use of rice fields in swampy areas, and increase the planting index. Some examples of work that can be done to improve agricultural infrastructure in Sidrap Regency include: Dredging and normalizing rivers or irrigation channels, Construction and rehabilitation of pumping irrigation, Construction of water gates or ditch dams, Construction of drainage in the form of duekker plates and culverts, Construction of farmer bridges The local government will also likely respond positively to improving agricultural infrastructure, emphasizing the importance of improving roads, irrigation, and accessibility to markets. They will underline that good infrastructure can increase agricultural productivity, enable farmers to sell their crops more efficiently and get better prices, thus having a direct impact on their welfare. In addition, the existence of an adequate irrigation system is very important to maintain the sustainability of agriculture, especially amidst the challenges of climate change. It will also encourage collaboration between government, farmers, and the private sector to ensure that infrastructure development meets the needs of the community. They may add that supporting programs, such as training in modern agricultural techniques and marketing management, are also needed to maximize the benefits of existing infrastructure. Overall, the regional head will emphasize that improving agricultural infrastructure is an important pillar in the economic and social development of Sidrap Regency.
