THE MOST IMPORTANT INVESTMENT THAT IS OFTEN IGNORE
This is a Response to the Kesehatan wikithon
Mental health is often considered less important than physical health, even though the two are closely related and equally crucial to living a quality life. The negative stigma that still sticks to mental health issues makes many individuals reluctant to seek help, even when they are struggling with depression, anxiety, or other mental disorders. In fact, prioritizing mental health is just as important as maintaining physical health, and can even be said to be the most important investment that we often ignore.
We easily realize the importance of eating nutritious food, exercising regularly, and checking our physical health regularly. However, we often forget the importance of taking care of our mental health. In fact, chronic stress, lack of sleep, and unhealthy lifestyles can have a negative impact on mental health, triggering various problems such as anxiety disorders, depression, and burnout. These symptoms are often ignored, considered personal weaknesses, or just "a little tired". As a result, mental health problems that could have been treated in the early stages actually worsen and have a wider impact on the individual's life.
It is important to realize that mental health is not just the absence of mental illness. It is a state in which a person is able to function optimally emotionally, psychologically, and socially. This includes the ability to manage stress, build healthy relationships, achieve goals, and feel fulfilled in life. To achieve this state, we need to actively care for our mental health, just as we care for our physical health. Some simple steps that can be taken include: paying attention to adequate sleep patterns, consuming healthy foods, exercising regularly, establishing positive social relationships, learning stress management, and seeking professional help when needed. Seeking professional help is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of courage and self-awareness. Therapists, psychologists, and counselors can provide the support and guidance needed to overcome mental health issues. Don't hesitate to take advantage of the resources available, whether it's community mental health services, mental health apps, or peer support groups. Remember, prioritizing mental health is a long-term investment that will have a positive impact on all aspects of our lives, from interpersonal relationships, work productivity, to overall happiness. Don't let us regret ignoring this most important investment. Let's start caring and prioritizing our mental health, before it's too late.- Affiliation
