Sultan Struggle Hasanuddin" Sultan Hasanuddin was born in Gowa, South Sulawesi, January 12, 1631. The 16th king of Gowa was born under the name I Mallombasi Daeng Mattawang Karaeng Bonto Mangepe because of his bravery he was nicknamed the Rooster of the East. In 1660 a war broke out between the kingdoms of Gowa and the Netherlands. This battle ended because of the holding of a peace treaty in 1666. The war returned because of the Dutch peace and harmed Gowa on November 18, 1667 at Bongaya Sultan Hasanuddin who had been pressured by various Bongaya battles on June 12, 1669. The Dutch succeeded in controlling the Somba Opu Fort, Sultan Hasanuddin died at the age of 39 years on June 12, 1670 until the end of his life Sultan Hasanuddin still did not want to give up on the Dutch. +
