On this occasion, I will review a local animation film by Makassar children "The Last Trepangers: A Brother from Across The Sea".In the story, there are two main characters who are twins, namely Hasan and Hasni, who face various challenges in realizing their desire to find their older sister in Marege, who went looking for sea cucumbers and never returned.After watching this animated film, in terms of story, I think there are 4 important things that are conveyed. Namely, History, Culture, Tolerance, andalso tradition.In my opinion, packaging a history in the form of animation, one of which is about the sea cucumber seekers. It is very interesting, and of course more effective, especially for children who are very interested, which makes learning history even more exciting.the animation is also packaged quite well, the characters from the animation are very strong in my opinion, from the depiction of the indigenous people of Makassar at that time, starting from the way they dress, skin color, and also the shape of the face, which in my opinion is sufficient to describe the native people of Makassar. And also the dialogue used in this animation uses the Makassar language or accent, so the dialogue doesn't seem too stiff, I can enjoy the film more.The depiction of the feelings of the characters in this animated film, ranging from sad, happy, worried, excited, happy, is very well illustrated and reaches the audience watching in my opinion. The choice of music or backsound is also very good in my opinion, using a song from Theory of Discoustic-One Direction, in my opinion it really goes with this film, especially in the last scene which is closed with Hasan running and the One Direction song is playing.There is one message that I really like from Dato's character, which he says "An adventurer is not afraid to die where they go, they are only afraid to miss a very valuable opportunity, which God has given."
