• Water Crisis + (The recent dry season has caused the city The recent dry season has caused the city of Makassar to receive drought alert status. This is caused by low rainfall in the city of Makassar. This low rainfall has caused the supply of raw water in the city of Makassar to decrease, so clean water is quite difficult to obtain at this time. In fact, to get clean water, residents have to take PDAM cars that run in every area of Makassar city. The lack of raw water supply is the reason why the two cities of Makassar are experiencing drought alert statusssar are experiencing drought alert status)
 • increasingly severe traffic jams and irregular spatial planning in the city of Makassar + (The regional head candidates of Makassar CThe regional head candidates of Makassar City have a big responsibility to formulate policies that can answer the needs of their citizens and overcome various problems that have long been faced. In my opinion, there are 2 important issues that need to be a priority for the new regional head candidates so that the planning and development of Makassar in the future are more targeted. The first issue that must be a serious concern is the increasingly severe traffic congestion, especially on main roads such as Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, Jalan AP Pettarani, and Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan. The congestion that occurs in the city of Makassar is caused by the increasing number of private vehicles which continues to increase every year while the road capacity does not change to accommodate existing vehicles, the increasing population in Makassar also increases the demands of community life which also increases the volume and frequency of population activities so that there is an imbalance in road needs with population density, low levels of knowledge and traffic culture Where many road users are not orderly by going against the flow and also parking vehicles on the shoulder and body of the road, inadequate public transportation, and ineffective arrangement of heavy tonnage vehicles. One solution that can be proposed is the improvement and enhancement of public transportation, such as bus rapid transit (BRT) or the development of rail-based transportation. Prospective regional heads also need to encourage stricter policies to reduce the use of private vehicles, for example by limiting the number of new vehicles or developing an effective paid parking system so that the increasingly rampant illegal parking problem in commercial areas can be handled. In addition, improving the quality of sidewalks and bicycle lanes can be one way to encourage residents to choose to walk or cycle, as well as increasing the supply of space that can be used to accommodate new activity infrastructure.
The second issue that is no less important is the increasingly irregular spatial planning of Makassar City due to rapid urbanization. Many green areas have now been converted into housing or shopping centers without careful planning, resulting in a decline in environmental quality, such as reduced water catchment areas and increased air pollution. Prospective regional heads must have a sustainable spatial planning policy, by increasing green open spaces and strictly controlling development permits so that the balance between development and the environment is maintained.
Overall, these two main issues should be the main focus of regional head candidates in building a more advanced and prosperous Makassar City. Handling and reducing congestion, developing efficient public transportation, and more integrated spatial planning are important initial steps to improve the quality of life of the community. With a clear vision and real action, Makassar can develop into a more modern city, while still paying attention to the welfare of its citizens and preserving its environment.s citizens and preserving its environment.)

 • Dari Rencana ke Realisasi: Prioritas Utama dalam Kepemimpinan Daerah + (The role of regional leadership is crucialThe role of regional leadership is crucial for the development and progress of a region. Regional leaders, whether at the district, city, or provincial level, are responsible for leading their areas towards sustainable social, economic, and environmental well-being. In this process, formulating policies and strategic plans is a critical first step. However, these plans must be implemented into tangible and beneficial actions for the community.

The first priority in effective regional leadership is creating a transparent and accountable government. This is the foundation for the success of implementing the planned programs. The public needs to be able to monitor the performance of the regional government, especially in managing budgets and executing public projects. Regional leaders need to ensure transparency in the dissemination of information about policies and budget allocations to the public. This transparency will increase public trust and reduce the risk of corruption, collusion, and nepotism, which are often obstacles to implementing development plans.

In addition, accountability in regional governance means having effective oversight mechanisms to ensure that every allocated budget is used for the intended purposes and goals. An accessible public complaint system needs to be strengthened so that the regional government can respond to citizens' grievances and input quickly and appropriately.

Infrastructure is a key factor in economic growth and improving the quality of life. Therefore, one of the top priorities is equitable and inclusive infrastructure development. Many regions in Indonesia, particularly remote areas, still face challenges in accessing basic infrastructure such as roads, electricity, clean water, and the internet. Regional leaders must ensure that infrastructure development is evenly distributed throughout the region, not just concentrated in urban centers. Inclusive infrastructure development will create new economic opportunities, improve access to education and healthcare, and reduce regional disparities. For example, good roads will make it easier for farmers to distribute their produce to markets, while adequate internet networks will open up access to information and business opportunities for rural communities. Regional leaders need to collaborate with the central government, the private sector, and the community to implement infrastructure development that is accessible to all.

Education is key to long-term regional progress. One of the priorities for regional leaders is often improving the quality of education. The biggest challenge is ensuring that these plans are well-executed on the ground. Regional governments need to allocate adequate budgets for school construction, improving teacher quality, and providing sufficient educational facilities. Additionally, it is important for regional leaders not only to focus on formal education but also on job training programs that enhance the skills of the population in line with local labor market needs. Vocational training, skills courses, and workforce capacity building for the younger generation can help reduce unemployment and increase the competitiveness of the regional workforce. These programs must be designed to be flexible with technological developments and economic trends to have a direct positive impact on society.

The next priority is ensuring adequate access to healthcare services for the population. Regional leaders must commit to improving the quality of healthcare facilities, such as community health centers, clinics, and hospitals, especially in areas far from urban centers. Access to quality healthcare is crucial to maintaining public health, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The realization of plans in the healthcare sector can be achieved by strengthening healthcare human resources, such as doctors and nurses, and ensuring that healthcare facilities are equipped with adequate tools and medicines. Moreover, preventive healthcare programs, such as health campaigns and immunizations, must be prioritized to prevent preventable diseases in the population.

As part of the responsibility of regional leaders, the management of natural resources (SDA) and the environment is an important aspect that cannot be overlooked. Many regions in Indonesia are rich in natural resources such as mining, forests, and fisheries. However, unsustainable management often leads to environmental degradation and social conflict. Therefore, regional leaders must prioritize sustainable natural resource management as part of regional development policy.

Effective environmental policies must be formulated to ensure that the exploitation of natural resources is conducted with consideration for long-term environmental sustainability. For instance, mining or plantation permits must be granted selectively with careful consideration of long-term environmental impacts. Additionally, regional leaders need to take the initiative in environmental rehabilitation programs and support green movements that involve local communities, such as reforestation, waste management, and water source conservation.

Regional leaders play a crucial role in advancing the local economy, particularly by developing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). MSMEs are the backbone of the regional economy because they provide jobs for local residents and contribute significantly to regional GDP. In the development plan, regional leaders must ensure that there are policies that support MSME growth, such as access to capital, business training, and opening new markets.

Moreover, promoting local products, especially those with export potential, should be part of the regional leader's economic program. Local economic empowerment can be enhanced through collaboration between MSMEs and large industries to create mutually beneficial synergies. The development of cooperatives and community business groups can strengthen the local economy collectively.

Conclusion

Regional leaders are responsible for ensuring that every program has a direct impact on improving the well-being of the community. Through government transparency, inclusive infrastructure development, improving the quality of education and healthcare, as well as empowering the local economy, regional leaders can create real change in their regions. The success of regional leadership is not only measured by how well plans are made, but also by how effectively those plans are realized to meet the needs of the community.alized to meet the needs of the community.)

However, sometimes the school environment is also capable of causing mental disorders in students or adolescents. Harsh treatment by friends, demands for too many and complicated tasks, demands to be perfect or have been labeled as smart students by teachers and friends, are often the main causes of students or adolescents experiencing mental disorders at a young age. In addition, family problems such as family economic problems or frequent parental quarrels are also the cause of mental damage in adolescents. Because the values contained in the siri napacce culture are a high attitude of shame and are owned by a person, to be used as a guideline for life in maintaining their words and actions towards others and upholding self-esteem and dignity. • Don’t #KaburAjaDulu (JustRunAwayFirst), But Rise Up: Building Resilience Community for the Future + (The social environment means nothing withoThe social environment means nothing without people in it. In every corner of the city, there are breadwinners who start their day working with hope, only to return home with a layoff notice. A total of 83,724 children were forced to bury their dreams and drop out of school due to increasingly unaffordable costs in 2023-2024 (BPS, 2024). Ironically, education and healthcare—supposed to be the foundation of well-being—are no longer top priorities, replaced by budget efficiency and policies that do not favor the people. This uncertainty breeds frustration, stress, anxiety about the future, and even depression, all of which affect mental health. Amidst this uncertainty, the trend #JustRunAwayFirst has emerged, reflecting the desire to escape from an increasingly suffocating reality (Nathania, 2025). This phenomenon has become a coping mechanism for prolonged pressure. However, is this a long-term solution, or is it a warning sign that we need an environment more supportive of mental health?

When someone feels they have no control over their life, the world seems like an unfriendly place. Economic pressures, social injustice, and a lack of support can trigger trauma—not just from major events but from ongoing uncertainty (Miller-Karas, 2023). According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Yonatan, 2024), 3.01 million Indonesian citizens reside abroad, many not only due to economic factors but also because of social and psychological pressures at home. This situation highlights the importance of an environment that provides a sense of security. One approach to building resilience against pressure is the concept of a Resilient Community, a community that understands and helps manage trauma and stress in a healthy way. This approach emphasizes psychological education, stress management training, and active community involvement in creating safe spaces. Research (Gilmer et al., 2025) shows that communities that understand trauma can reduce the tendency to run away from problems. In Indonesia, this approach can be implemented. However, this effort cannot rely solely on society; the government must actively provide broader access to mental health services, support community initiatives, and ensure policies that prioritize people’s well-being.

Therefore, as long as we remain trapped in the shadow of #AnxiousIndonesia, the vision of #GoldenIndonesia is nothing but empty words. If we continue to let the #JustRunAwayFirst mentality become a legacy, we are not only losing future generations but also creating a fragile nation, easily shaken by crises. There is no glory for those who run from reality. If we do not act now, we must be prepared to witness a generation growing up without hope in a country that no longer stands for them. • Efforts to create mental health + (The structure of a supportive environment The structure of a supportive environment for mental health requires a holistic approach that takes into account a variety of interconnected factors. Rather than focusing on immediate solutions, you need to build a strong and sustainable foundation.
One important aspect is the development of mental health literacy. They not only know the symptoms of mental disorders, they also understand the risks and protective factors. It is important to break down mental health issues and translate negative perceptions into empathetic understanding.
It is also very important to build a strong social support system. This is not only about family and close friends, but also about the wider community. Building a strong social network where individuals feel safe in exchanging experiences and seeking help is key to preventing and overcoming mental health problems. Initiatives based on initiatives such as peer support groups and mentoring programs can play an important role in this.
Furthermore, a healthy and supportive work environment is very important. • Don't let the earth cry because of our trash + (The waste problem in developing countries The waste problem in developing countries like Indonesia is a problem that is almost never resolved, this happens because it is not handled properly by all parties, both the government and society. Where the waste is only collected together and then ends up at the final disposal site, however, the rubbish that piles up at the final disposal site has a negative impact on human health, environmental sustainability, as well as wildlife that is trapped or exposed to dangerous materials from the pile of rubbish itself. Apart from that, waste that is not managed properly will damage ecosystems and threaten biodiversity by polluting natural habitats. Plastic waste, for example, accounts for the majority of marine pollution, because this material is difficult to decompose and often ends up in the ocean, ultimately threatening marine life and damaging maritime ecosystems. In 2022, Indonesia's seas will be polluted by 389 thousand tons of plastic waste and in 2017 plastic waste in the ocean will be eaten by animals and will kill 1 million seabirds and 100 thousand marine mammals.
Indonesia is the fourth largest country in the world with an area of 1,811,570 square kilometers and according to the Worldometers survey, the population reaches 273,523,615 people, so that if you calculate every 1 square kilometer, there are 151 residents. This is also in line with the waste produced. From weste4change data in 2021, Indonesia produces 175,000 tons of waste every day, however, of this amount of waste, only 7.5% can be recycled and made into compost, while the remaining 10% of waste is landfilled, 5% of waste is burned. and the rest accumulates in landfill. Apart from causing environmental pollution, the mounting piles of rubbish also increase the production of methane gas from the rubbish.
For example, the case of a methane gas explosion in a mountain of rubbish at the Leuwigajah TPA, Cimahi, West Java in 2005 which triggered landslides in the villages of Cilimus and Mojong. The methane gas explosion also resulted in the deaths of 157 people, most of whom were local residents who worked as scavengers. This case example once again shows how serious the waste problem is, which must be immediately addressed and resolved by paying attention to how waste management should be carried out. The waste management process is not only about reduce, reuse and recycle, but there are various much more important aspects that must be paid attention to, such as legal aspects, institutional aspects, funding aspects, socio-cultural aspects and technological aspects, all of which must be worked on simultaneously. .
The problem of waste is a national problem, so its management must be carried out comprehensively. Solving problems regarding waste management requires cooperation from various parties, from the government, product manufacturers or the business world to the general public. Five aspects of waste management that have not been effective in Indonesia must be immediately accelerated so that the incident at the Leuwigajah TPA does not happen again. Unfortunately, academic pressure, complicated social relationships, or loneliness often make school feel like a maze with no exit. So, how to create an environment that can be a ‘protective shield’ for teenagers' mental health? From "Silent Classroom" to "Quiet Corner

" Have
you ever
wanted to escape from your P5 assignments or test anxiety? According to a study by the Journal of School Health (2022), the physical environment of schools has a huge impact on mental health. Schools need to provide a ‘quiet corner’ area with soft sofas, greenery, or instrumental music to recharge your energy. For example, a library could be added as a relaxing reading zone, or an empty hallway turned into an ‘expression gallery’ to post poems or drawings. It's like putting the brakes on a mind that is always racing.

2. From "Me Alone" to "We're a Team "

The stigma around mental health often makes us afraid to confide in others. Technology is like a double-edged knife: if used wisely, it can be a modern therapeutic tool.

Creating a mentally friendly environment is not just the job of teachers or psychologists, it's our collective responsibility.
