pappilajarang nga anjo is closely related to the progress of a region, nation, sometimes I am asked to choose by the government between building adequate infrastructure. +
In my opinion, what regional head candidates should prioritize are education, economy and environment. These include improving the quality of education, providing education for those who cannot afford it, encouraging economic growth, creating jobs, addressing waste issues, and tackling air pollution. +
As we know, among teenagers today, it is undeniable that their social life is very busy, many students drop out of school due to early marriage (pregnancy outside of marriage) due to wrong decisions. +
Empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as well as the development of local industries and job creation. +
The importance of the issue in the context of regional heads is very significant. The issues that need to be raised by a regional head need to understand and raise issues that are relevant to the needs and aspirations of the community to create policies that are right on target. By raising important issues, regional heads can encourage active community participation in the decision-making process, increasing their sense of ownership of regional programs. Regional heads are faced with various challenges, such as poverty, unemployment, and infrastructure. These issues need to be raised and addressed seriously to achieve development goals.
Talking about issues, we need to know the term issue first. According to KBBI, an issue is news or statements that become a discussion or concern of the public; a hot topic to talk about. The definition shows that issues are related to things that attract public attention and are often the subject of discussion in society. Issues can cover a wide range of topics, including political, social, economic, and environmental.
In stepping into becoming a regional head, they must think about what issues they must develop and have an impact on the community they will lead. Priority issues which are important priorities that they will do in the future if they move forward. These issues are very important for regional heads, because the issues raised by regional heads will affect the direction of policies and programs that they will implement..
And according to an important issue that must be raised by a regional head. Here the issue of "Empowerment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as the development of local industries and job creation". I take this issue because there are several reasons why a regional head needs to develop MSMEs in his area, including the following:
1. Regional Economic Pillar
The regional economic pillar is the main driver of the local economy. And MSMEs are the majority of gross domestic products (PBD).
2. Reduction of Unemployment
In improving MSMEs help in improving and local industries help in creating jobs, which is important to reduce the unemployment rate and improve people's welfare.
3. Skills Development and Innovation
With the development of skills and innovation, it is necessary to carry out training and skill improvement programs, which can improve the skills of the community.
4. Community Empowerment
MSMEs encourage people to more actively participate in the economy and decisions that affect them in increasing community creativity.
5. Economic Independence
Economic independence helps reduce the risk of instability caused by global market fluctuations or international crises. And improving the welfare of the community through the efforts they make.
MSMEs in a region should be a priority issue for regional heads because they have a significant impact on the economy and community welfare. MSMEs contribute more than 60% to Indonesia's GDP and provide employment for more than 90% of the workforce in the private sector. With this large contribution, support for MSMEs is an investment in economic stability and community welfare. Candidates for regional heads who understand and support the role of MSMEs will contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
There are many examples of regions that have succeeded in improving the welfare of their communities through strong support for MSMEs. For example, several cities in Indonesia that provide fiscal incentives and training programs for MSMEs have shown significant improvements in local economic growth and a decrease in the unemployment rate. This success is proof that the right support for MSMEs can bring real positive change.
The development of local industries is an effort to increase the capacity and competitiveness of industries based in an area. This is very important to encourage economic growth, create jobs, and improve people's welfare. Perhaps the development of local industries and the benefits of these industries are the same as MSMEs that create jobs, develop products and innovations, support local products, and strengthen the local economy.
The issues raised by regional heads should be carried out properly to achieve the desired development goals. These issues must be issues related to the economy, such as the development of MSMEs or local industries, if managed properly, can increase regional economic growth and job creation. Social issues that are taken seriously will contribute to improving people's welfare, reducing poverty, and improving the quality of life. Thus, it is important for regional heads to not only raise issues, but also ensure that the issues can be implemented properly to achieve maximum positive impacts on the community and the region.
MSMEs here are taken so that growth in a society can increase. Because with the empowerment of communities such as MSMEs, it is beneficial to an area. In the area that makes MSMEs, it will increase the opinion of the community.
MSMEs are also regulated in Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation giving priority to the development of MSMEs in Indonesia. In this case, the government has built a business licensing concept that is friendly to MSMEs, and provides various facilities for MSMEs to develop. This Law also regulates various aspects related to MSMEs, such as principles and proposals as well as their principles and empowerment. The principles and objectives are that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises are based on:
• Family
• Independence
• Economic democracy
• Togetherness
• Balance of progress
• Fair efficiency
• National economic unity.
With the law that regulates MSMEs, it can make it easier for a person who wants to develop these MSMEs. Especially if the MSME is one of the issues that will be raised by a regional head. And surely in its development, the head of the district will provide learning first to the community so that they can manage the MSME business and run well with the support of the government and the heads of the surrounding regions.
Continuous support for MSMEs will have a positive long-term impact on the regional and national economy. With stable and sustainable growth, MSMEs will be able to contribute more to GDP, create more jobs, and increase the competitiveness of local products in the global market. This will help Indonesia achieve more equitable and inclusive prosperity. The candidate for regional head who took up this issue hopes to be able to make small people build MSMEs which are the drivers of a more prosperous community life in meeting the daily needs of a more prosperous life
By taking the empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as well as the development of local industries and job creation. It is the same as we can directly encourage community progress, not only in reducing unemployment. But it can also increase community innovation and creativity, economic prosperity, support for local products, improve social welfare, and community empowerment. Thus, MSMEs can be an important

The Maros and Makassar regions hold a strategic role in South Sulawesi, both in terms of tourism and education. With increasing mobility among residents and tourists, transportation issues have become highly crucial. One of the main problems faced is the worsening traffic congestion, especially on the connecting route between Maros and Makassar. Therefore, improving an integrated transportation system will not only reduce congestion but also have positive effects on the environment and enhance the quality of life for the community.
The traffic congestion on the Maros-Makassar route often hinders the mobility of residents and tourists. One solution that can be implemented is the development of effective public transportation, such as adding bus stops along the Maros-Makassar route. This will make it easier for Maros residents to access affordable and efficient public transportation, thus reducing reliance on private vehicles.
Better public transportation will also provide convenience for students from Maros who study at various campuses in Makassar. Currently, many Maros students are forced to rent accommodation in Makassar due to limited and time-consuming transportation access. With better public transport, students can commute without having to pay additional costs for accommodation. This will also broaden access, not only for those studying at major universities like Hasanuddin University (Unhas) or Alauddin State Islamic University (UIN), but also at other higher education institutions in the region.
In addition to reducing congestion, the development of efficient public transportation also directly contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Private vehicles are one of the main sources of carbon emissions in urban areas. With more residents switching to buses or other forms of public transport, air pollution in both Makassar and Maros can be minimized. This is also a concrete step toward mitigating the greenhouse effect, which is one of the main causes of global climate change.
Local governments must prioritize the construction of bus stops along strategic routes between Maros and Makassar. This will not only reduce the number of private vehicles on the road but also decrease fossil fuel consumption, which contributes to air pollution. The positive impact will be felt not only by local residents but also by tourists visiting key attractions in Maros, such as Bantimurung National Park and Rammang-Rammang.
With better access to public transportation, commuters traveling between Maros and Makassar will experience significant benefits. They will no longer have to deal with the stress of daily traffic congestion. This will also help them stay refreshed and focused on their daily activities, including studying or working.
Students and workers who no longer need to rent accommodations in the city will find it easier to manage their time and expenses, allowing them to focus more on education or work without being burdened by transportation issues. The time spent commuting will be more productive, and the mental and physical health of residents will improve as they no longer have to endure the strain of prolonged traffic congestion.
Environmental management is an issue that is quite rampant in this era that must be a priority and regional policy. Environmental challenges such as climate change, air and water pollution, waste and pollution management, economy, sustainability of natural resources and others. +
Expensive Education and Decommercialization: Declining Quality and Shackling
Education plays a central role in the lives of individuals and societies. The importance of education lies in its ability to equip everyone with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to face life's challenges, both at the personal and collective levels. Good education helps create a generation that is more critical, innovative, and adaptive to global change. Socially, education also plays a major role as a tool to reduce inequality. With equal access to education, everyone, regardless of socio-economic background, has an equal opportunity to succeed. Education not only improves the quality of life of individuals, but also strengthens the economic foundation of a country, because an educated workforce is more productive, creative, and able to contribute significantly to economic growth.
Ededeeh but in that article, what happens in the field is very different, education which should be a basic right for every child is now increasingly out of reach, especially for those who are in vulnerable conditions. The phenomenon of commercialization of education, which has given rise to expensive education costs, has worsened this condition, so the rich can go to good schools, while underprivileged children go to inadequate places, with the mindset that "the important thing is school". I don't know if knowledge is obtained or not, but the quality of schools must also be improved and not discriminated against. The condition of commercialization of education has worsened this condition. In the city of Makassar, the number of children dropping out of school (APS) increasingly reflects this injustice. In 2023, the Makassar City Education Office recorded that 2,240 children dropped out of elementary school and 1,055 at junior high school. These figures are clear evidence that high costs in education contribute to increasing APS rates. In addition, vulnerable groups such as street children in Makassar City face increasingly complex challenges. Not only are education costs expensive, but also factors of life instability, lack of family support, and poverty are the main barriers for them to get a decent education. This increasingly commercialized education system does not seem to provide a solution for marginalized groups. Instead of eradicating poverty through education, they are actually increasingly trapped in a cycle of poverty and limited access to quality education. By involving collaboration between the government, community and private sector to establish learning centers in various areas, especially in vulnerable environments. This center does not only focus on formal education, but also provides social and psychological support to underprivileged children or street children, or by providing full scholarships for children from underprivileged families. with the government can establish partnerships with private schools and non-profit institutions. NGOs and institutions that focus on social welfare.
This crisis must be a serious concern for the government and stakeholders. High education costs and the commercialization of the education sector will only widen the social gap, and more children will lose the opportunity to learn. The government needs to come up with policies that favor vulnerable groups, provide free or subsidized education for those who cannot afford it, and ensure that education is accessible to all levels of society without discrimination.

Facilities and infrastructure are still considered inadequate in education (Muh Afdal Multasyam), which in my opinion is very lacking because there are still many schools that lack basic facilities such as laboratories, libraries and now it is said that the era is very sophisticated and automatically requires computers in every school. and that is also one of the things that can hinder students' learning process in the current era. In my opinion, this is my response regarding education for regional head candidates. I hope to be more sensitive about education because the younger generation is the successor of this nation and will continue to be like that. +
Facing Natural Disasters with Green Leadership: Regional Head Candidates' Strategies to Address the Environmental Crisis +
In this modern era, environmental challenges are increasingly complex and diverse. From climate change, air pollution, uncontrolled waste, to biodiversity loss, these are all direct threats to the sustainability of planet Earth. Therefore, wise leadership that is dedicated to the environment is crucial. In this context, regional head candidates must be prepared to face natural disasters by using effective green leadership strategies.
Environmental issues are no longer a local phenomenon; they have become global issues that affect all aspects of human life. In Indonesia alone, several critical environmental cases have alarmed the nation. One of the most striking examples is the forest and peatland fires. Not only does this cause the loss of natural habitats and endemic species, but it also triggers global warming by releasing mass carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Waste is also a major concern. The increasing volume of waste in cities not only creates aesthetic problems, but also has the potential to pollute the environment and threaten public health. For example, the fire at the Sarimukti landfill in Cimahi City highlighted how serious the waste management problem is in some areas. Analysis of environmental problems must also involve community participation. The rights of citizens to participate in environmental management have been guaranteed by the Law on Environmental Protection and Management (No.32/2009). Community participation in reforestation campaigns and nature conservation programs has proven effective in increasing green land cover and reducing the impact of climate change.
An effective environmental management strategy should include several important elements.
First, the integration of environmentally friendly policies in every aspect of regional planning and development. This can start by integrating environmental conservation policies in regional strategic plans, such as efficient waste management, carbon emission reduction, forest preservation, and water resource conservation.
Second, the implementation of green technology. The implementation of renewable energy such as solar and wind power can help reduce dependence on polluting fossil energy sources. In addition, the development of electricity-based public transportation can also reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Third, restoration of damaged ecosystems. Peat restoration in West Kalimantan, for example, is a clear example of the need for serious efforts to preserve damaged ecosystems. The 3R method (Rewetting, Revegetation, Revitalization) has been used to revitalize peat areas and reduce the risk of flooding and forest fires.
Fourth, education and community participation. Environmental education programs aimed at increasing community awareness and involvement in nature conservation efforts are essential. Greening campaigns, tree adoption programs, and environmental education in schools are some of the concrete steps that can be taken.
Implementing environmental management strategies is not as easy as one might think. One of the main challenges is the cost required to implement environmental projects. The high cost of infrastructure, advanced technology, and trained human resources makes some aspiring local leaders doubt their financial ability to implement an ambitious environmental vision. However, not all challenges come from material factors. Some candidates also face political pressure from investors who are more interested in economic interests than environmental conservation. The aroma of exploitation of natural resources is still evident in some candidates' vision and mission documents, so there is a need for a more in-depth evaluation of their commitments. In addition, coordination between local and central government is also very important. The issue of forest and peatland fires, for example, is a federal matter that requires synergy between the regional and central levels. Although local governments have local authority, they must also work closely with federal agencies to address large-scale environmental issues.
Dealing with natural disasters with green leadership requires a complex and multi-faceted strategy. Regional head candidates must be ready to integrate environmentally friendly policies in every aspect of regional planning and development. Green technology, ecosystem restoration, community education and participation, as well as coordination between regional and central levels are important elements in overcoming the environmental crisis.Although the challenges faced are significant, real commitment and dedication to the environment can bring positive changes. For example, Sukabumi City has set three priority environmental issues, namely waste management, water quality and quantity, and natural disaster mitigation. These efforts show how important it is to focus on preparing environmental documents and addressing priority issues. In conclusion, facing natural disasters with green leadership requires wise and dedicated visionaries. Regional head candidates must be ready to take strategic steps to address the environmental crisis, and ensure that their environmental vision is not just a formality but can actually be implemented for a brighter future for current and future generations.
In my opinion, flood management in Makassar is still a big challenge. Even though Makassar is known as a city that rarely rains, when heavy rain falls, even for less than half an hour, the streets are immediately flooded up to ankle level. This can cause several areas, including housing, to be quickly submerged in water, which ultimately disrupts people's daily activities and has the potential to damage property. Meanwhile, many facilities in the city of Makassar are neglected. Many innovations have been created but unfortunately they do not work well or only function temporarily, such as the Lego-lego area on Jalan Metro Tanjung Bunga, which should be a comfortable public space for relaxing, but is now unable to function and is left as it is. Likewise, the bus stops are damaged and the pedestrian bridges are dirty and full of rubbish, which makes them uncomfortable for the public to use. The non-functioning of these facilities adds to the problem, because people do not have good alternatives to move around the city and has the potential to increase traffic jams. Repairing and better maintenance of these facilities is very important to support flood mitigation and create a cleaner, safer and more comfortable environment for Makassar residents. +
From trash heaps to the pinnacle of progress: why regional heads must become environmental heroes? +
The growth of the overconsuming population has resulted in a drastic increase in waste production. Mismanagement causes accumulation that pollutes the environment and threatens health. The question is whether this waste issue should be a priority for regional head candidates. So far I feel that waste is the root of many problems in every region and even the world, ranging from the environment to the quality of life, therefore in my opinion waste is an issue that needs to be prioritized for regional head candidates even though it is very template, but it proves to be important because it is not resolved. It is proven that every year humans around the world produce so much waste, based on data from the National Waste Management Information System (SIPSN) of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), until July 24, 2024, Indonesia has produced 31.9 million tons of waste.
With the accumulation of waste, it has a negative impact on the environment and humans. For example, environmental pollution, such as water and soil pollution caused by non-biodegradable waste, then air pollution due to incorrect waste management, such as burning can release toxic pollutants, and so on. From this environmental pollution comes the adverse impact on human health, namely diseases caused by viruses, bacteria, and parasites. One of the factors that affect individual and community health is environmental problems. This is because the environment is a place where humans and disease agents can develop together. (Ottay, 2013). Then the impact on quality of life and spatial layout, where the accumulation of waste makes a decrease in the quality of life of the community due to unpleasant odors, insects and rodents that breed disturbing comfort. An area looks slum if there is a lot of garbage so that it damages its aesthetics. It is useless for an area to be built with magnificent infrastructure but the floors are still decorated with garbage, the roadsides are still piled with garbage, rats like protected animals are free to roam, cockroaches fly around spreading disease, the stench of garbage becomes a fragrance, and so on.
These impacts have many causes, for which the government and then the community need to take full responsibility. In my opinion, waste accumulation occurs due to the lack of adequate facilities for waste disposal, improper waste management starting from each individual then household to landfill, and also regulations and sanctions from the government regarding waste. Government policies and public awareness are key to solving this waste problem. The government should provide more cleaning facilities, especially trash bins that have clearer waste sorting guidelines, because based on experience, we often want to dispose of waste properly but do not get proper facilities. Then instead of increasing the number of street cleaning employees, it should tighten cleaning supervision by making stricter regulations and more serious sanctions, even if necessary patrols every time. Then I think that education about waste and its harmful effects needs to be socialized a lot to the community, besides that it is necessary to create new innovations to make the community not burdened in managing their waste and protecting their environment.
Therefore, waste is a crucial issue that is very important to be considered by prospective regional leaders because of its impact that touches various aspects of life. With good collaboration between the government and the community, we can create a clean, healthy, comfortable and safe region and world to live in. In the embrace of clean nature we find peace, give back that love by keeping the environment clean.
As we know, the city of Makassar, as the capital of South Sulawesi Province, faces great challenges in poverty alleviation. Although we have achieved rapid development in recent years, there are still some people who are in difficult economic conditions. Therefore, the poverty alleviation program plan proposed by the head of Makassar is very relevant and crucial to be considered.
This poverty alleviation plan must be based on an in-depth analysis of the socioeconomic conditions of the community. Accurate and timely data on the number of poor people, the causes of poverty, and the potential of local resources should be the basis for designing effective programs. The situation in Makassar requires a comprehensive approach that not only focuses on social assistance, but also creates jobs and improves access to education and health services.
One of the strategic steps that can be taken is to develop a community economic empowerment program. These programs can include skills training, access to capital and business support for people who want to start or expand small businesses. The aim is to help communities become financially independent and escape poverty by improving skills and increasing access to resources. This also contributes to more inclusive local economic growth.
In addition, it is important to build partnerships with various parties, including the private sector, non-governmental organizations, and local communities. Building partnerships can help poverty alleviation programs become more inclusive and sustainable. For example, the private sector can play a role in job creation, and non-governmental organizations can provide education and social support. Involving all regional heads, this program will provide a wider reach and more significant impact.
Poverty alleviation programs must be integrated into sound infrastructure development policies. Access to infrastructure such as roads, electricity and clean water has a significant impact on people’s quality of life. Therefore, improvements to infrastructure in remote and underserved areas are critical to opening up new economic opportunities and improving people’s living standards. Investments in infrastructure also promote more equitable economic growth.
However, the implementation of this program is not without challenges. One of the main challenges is ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of budget funds. The public should participate in monitoring the program so that they can provide input and constructive criticism. In this way, public trust in the government will increase and their participation in poverty alleviation programs will increase.
Thus, the poverty alleviation program plan by the Makassar regional head must be dynamic and adaptive. Given the changing socioeconomic situation, it is necessary to periodically evaluate the programs implemented to assess their effectiveness and make adjustments if necessary. Only in this way can poverty alleviation efforts be successful and bring real benefits to the community.
Overall, the poverty alleviation programs planned in Makassar have great potential to bring about positive changes. It is hoped that with the right approach and good cooperation between various parties, Makassar will become a richer and more inclusive city for all its citizens.

Social inclusion and gender equality are important elements that local leaders should prioritize in sustainable development. Gender discrimination and inequality continue to be major obstacles that hinder the equitable development of youth potential in various sectors. This problem is rooted in social structures that often marginalize certain groups, including women and marginalized groups, thus reinforcing the cycle of injustice and hindering their contribution to regional development.
Regional heads need to encourage education that instills the values of gender equality and social inclusion. This is important to equip youth to understand the importance of respecting differences and challenging harmful stigmas. Through equality campaigns, they can raise public awareness about the role of women and the importance of empowering marginalized groups.
In addition, regional heads can initiate and support programs that focus on the rights of women and marginalized groups. These programs not only fight for equality, but also open greater access for all youth to actively participate in regional development. By prioritizing gender equality and social inclusion, regional heads help build the foundation of a resilient and competitive society, where all individuals have equal opportunities to develop and contribute without discrimination.
The problem of improper vehicle parking, especially in residential areas, is becoming increasingly troublesome. In housing complexes that should be safe and peaceful environments, many residents park their cars on the sides of the streets, particularly those who don’t have garages or whose vehicles outnumber their garage capacity. This has become a serious issue that not only disrupts order but also poses safety risks in traffic.
In streets that are 4-6 meters wide, cars parked on the side often leave very little room for other vehicles to pass. With the average car being 1-2 meters wide, roads that were initially meant for two-way traffic become narrow, causing congestion. This poses a significant challenge for drivers, especially those with four-wheeled vehicles, who are often forced to stop or even reverse because they can’t get through. This situation disrupts traffic flow in residential areas, which should be calm and orderly.
Worse still, there are residents who own more than one car but only have one garage. As a result, while one car is parked in the garage, the other is left on the street, occupying the roadside, which should be reserved for smooth traffic. This situation not only reduces road access but also causes inconvenience to neighbors living nearby.
This improper parking should not be taken lightly. Parking that is not in the correct place leads to congestion, increases the risk of accidents, and disturbs the overall comfort of living in a community. The government must take firm steps to re-organize vehicle parking in residential areas to create a more orderly and safe environment.
One solution that can be implemented is the "1 Garage, 1 Car" policy. This policy would require each vehicle owner to have a garage adequate to house the number of cars they own. If a household has only one garage, they should only be allowed to own one car. This policy would push residents to be more responsible for their private vehicles and discourage the use of public roadsides as permanent parking spaces.
With this policy, it is expected that residents will become more disciplined in managing their vehicles. Additionally, the government should provide socialization and education to the public on the importance of following parking regulations. Building sufficient parking facilities in public areas or housing complexes can also be an additional solution, allowing those with more vehicles to park safely and in an orderly manner.
The success of the "1 Garage, 1 Car" program will largely depend on the government's commitment to enforcing this regulation. Strict sanctions, such as fines or the towing of improperly parked vehicles, can be imposed to encourage public compliance. Furthermore, regular monitoring in residential areas is needed to ensure that this regulation is properly followed.

Many people do not know how to take care of the paperwork to enter the hospital, which is why many patients die without being treated by the hospital because they do not have the paperwork. +
As a nation and state, Indonesia, with a population of 275.5 million people stretching from Sabang to Merauke and from Miangas to Rote Island, often faces problems with the quality of human resources. Poor government management procedures for society in the form of education, food and the environment are the cause of the decline in the quality of human resources compared to Asian countries, especially Southeast Asia. When applied to my life, I am still sad to see the social inequality between the poor and the rich, the unequal access to education and even the many children out there who cannot obtain their human rights. In fact, harassment often occurs everywhere. This results in the quality of human resources in Indonesia being very sad. And rising to the level of officialdom, it cannot be denied that there are still many officials who commit corruption and nepotism +

Discussing the issues that need to be prioritized by the prospective regional head. I think there are many things that need to be prioritized for Makassar City to become the prima donna of Eastern Indonesia.
There are several points that are important issues:
1. Environmental Issues
There are many issues related to the environment, starting from the slow handling of waste which causes flooding in several places during the rainy season, even reaching the main roads causing traffic jams, and worse, there have been riots on the toll roads because motorcyclists entered. The road repairs are not felt, traffic jams often occur in several places, there is a water crisis in some areas, and in recent years there have been rolling blackouts.
2. The Issue of Poverty and Misallocated Aid
I think this might be quite heavy, but this issue also needs to be addressed so that welfare can be built. Regarding the issue of poverty, I want to connect it with the awareness that if people are continuously spoon-fed without being given something that can improve themselves, such as skill training, creativity, or something similar, then those people will have a poverty mentality and will keep waiting to be spoon-fed. I completely agree that the social assistance given frequently is very helpful, but not with the provision of social assistance for free without any goals to achieve. Moreover, if the assistance provided is not targeted and only favors those with connections or acquaintances, it is truly ironic.
3. HR and Job Vacancies
The topic of HR and job vacancies also has important issues that need to be addressed. Where Human Resources or the quality of the community's self needs to be taken into account and supported. I think there needs to be a program created so that human resources can understand the job market, which is currently closely tied to technological developments, as well as a program that can open up job opportunities because there are many people out there who are struggling and even becoming desperate about employment.
I think that issue needs to be prioritized in the city of Makassar, and solutions need to be provided along with actions taken.
At the very least, there needs to be a platform to listen to grievances or provide mutual feedback regarding what the community experiences and what the government does, so that quick responses can be created. And from that platform, it is not only the regional heads who need to pay attention to and prioritize issues, but also how a regional head can have a positive influence to embrace and invite all or at least some of the community to pay attention to several existing issues to make Makassar better.
Economy and welfare are two closely related concepts. Economics refers to the system of production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services in a society. Meanwhile, welfare refers to a condition in which basic human needs are met, both materially and non-materially, so that individuals can live a decent and quality life. In the context of the election of regional head candidates, the issue of “economy and welfare” is an important issue to be prioritized by regional head candidates because both have a direct impact on the quality of life of the community. By improving economic conditions and welfare, regional heads can create a more prosperous and stable environment, with the reason being that if the economy develops, people are more able to get better access to their needs such as food, education, health services, and housing, especially in peripheral areas which are still often found. This can improve the overall physical, mental, and social well-being of the community. Poverty reduction can also be one of the main objectives in economic development, by creating programs that focus on providing jobs, developing MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises), and social assistance that can help lift the poor out of poverty because it can be a reason for some people who want to pursue a more decent education. Regional heads who are able to overcome poverty will have a significant direct impact on their citizens and of course jobs not only provide income, but also provide a sense of belonging, identity, and satisfaction for them. Some of these regions still have challenges in providing employment, especially among young people, which is one of the problems that must be addressed in effective economic policies and of course this development is preferred by the community. A growing economy can create more jobs for people. Regional heads who focus on economic development will seek to increase investment in their region, supporting local sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, industry and tourism. This gives people the opportunity to work and have a stable income.
Health is also an important aspect of well-being. A good health program will improve people's overall quality of life. Regional head candidates need to ensure that health services are easily accessible and of high quality, especially for vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly. With programs aimed at health, it will help create a more productive generation. Of course, good health will increase productivity. The provision of adequate and affordable clean water is also very important and is included in the Health of communities that are still difficult to get clean water. This is also one of the main determining factors in improving welfare. By implementing programs that can be realized such as the government needs to work with the private sector, civil society, and donor agencies to increase access to clean water, communities need to be provided with knowledge and skills in managing clean water and good sanitation, and the application of appropriate technology can increase efficiency in managing clean water.
Economic and welfare issues are at the heart of local leadership. By making these issues a priority, regional heads can create a better environment for their citizens, focusing on issues including job creation, poverty alleviation, infrastructure improvement, as well as ensuring that the benefits of economic growth can be enjoyed by all levels of society and leave a brighter future for future generations.
