- Oh gosh, paying for parking again + (Makassar, as one of the largest cities and … Makassar, as one of the largest cities and economic hubs in Eastern Indonesia, holds significant potential to become an international standard city. However, one persistent issue is hindering the city’s development and frustrating its residents: the increasing number of illegal parking attendants. Not only has their number grown, but their practices are also unfair and burdensome to the public. Currently, parking attendants are not only a financial burden on residents, but they also reduce the convenience and security of daily activities in the city.
Imagine withdrawing Rp50,000 from an ATM, only to be forced to give Rp2,000 to a parking attendant. This means you walk away with only Rp48,000. While Rp2,000 may seem small, when multiplied by daily activities—for instance, if someone stops at 10 different locations in a day, each with a parking attendant—the total paid out reaches Rp20,000 just for parking. That money could be used for more essential things, like buying drinking water or saving for future needs. It becomes an unnecessary burden on residents that could easily be avoided.
More troubling is that when valuables are lost in a parking area, the attendants often take no responsibility. They claim that any losses are the individual's responsibility. If that’s the case, what is the point of paying for parking? The role of parking attendants should be to provide security, but this is not the reality. Moreover, there’s a common sentiment among some that "Rp2,000 won’t make you poor." However, those small amounts, when accumulated, can have a significant impact, especially for lower-income communities.
The Makassar city government must take immediate and decisive action to address this problem. Several solutions could be implemented. First, the government could eliminate illegal parking attendants and replace the parking system with a more structured one, such as employing official parking officers who are paid through citizens' taxes. This way, residents who shop or stop at public places would no longer have to pay parking fees. This would also increase transparency and accountability.
Additionally, the government could strengthen the presence of authorities such as police, transportation officers, or security personnel in public areas. Their presence would ensure the safety and comfort that illegal parking attendants currently fail to provide. With this implemented, residents wouldn’t have to worry about losing their belongings or facing discomfort while parking in public spaces.
The existence of illegal parking attendants also fosters an unhealthy social dynamic. Many people view working as a parking attendant as an easy way to make money quickly, without much responsibility. Vehicles that stop for only a moment are charged parking fees, creating the impression that working as a parking attendant is a shortcut to earning income without hard work. This can weaken the work ethic and discourage the pursuit of more productive, sustainable jobs.
If Makassar wants to be a world-class city, urban management, including parking, must be improved. Major cities around the world typically have well-developed public transportation systems and organized parking facilities, so residents and tourists don’t have to worry about harmful illegal parking practices. Eliminating illegal parking and implementing better regulations would enhance Makassar’s image as a modern, welcoming city for all.
In conclusion, transforming Makassar from a “Kota Parkir” to a “Kota Dunia” is not impossible. With the right policies and real actions from the government, residents will experience significant benefits. Irresponsible and disruptive parking practices must be eliminated and replaced with an orderly system that supports the city’s growth. This is a crucial step in making Makassar a more comfortable, safe, and world-class city.e comfortable, safe, and world-class city.)
- The old airport has been empty for a long time + (Mandai Old Airport, once the primary gatew … Mandai Old Airport, once the primary gateway for air travel in South Sulawesi, has been largely abandoned since it was replaced by Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport. However, with its vast remaining land, this old airport holds immense potential for revitalization that could benefit the people of South Sulawesi, particularly those in Makassar and Maros. In response to the region's evolving needs and the aspirations of its people, local government should explore innovative options to repurpose this space, whether in the realms of history, sports, or environmental sustainability.
One compelling idea is to transform Mandai Old Airport into an aviation history museum. This site could be turned into an educational tourist attraction showcasing the history of airports, both in Sulawesi and throughout Indonesia. The museum could feature exhibits of old aircraft, aviation equipment, and information on the evolution of aviation. Such a museum would not only serve as a cultural landmark but also contribute to the regional economy by drawing tourists from both within and outside the country, keen to learn about aviation history. This initiative would position South Sulawesi as a unique destination in the tourism landscape.
Moreover, the museum could act as an educational hub for schoolchildren, students, and aviation enthusiasts who want to delve deeper into the world of flight and the crucial role airports play in regional development. Establishing this museum would undoubtedly have a positive impact on historical awareness and become a cultural legacy for future generations.
Alternatively, the government could consider using the space to build a modern football stadium. Football is a beloved sport in Makassar and across South Sulawesi, and the construction of an international-standard stadium would become a source of pride for the local population. Such a stadium would not only host sporting events but could also serve as a venue for concerts and large-scale gatherings. A new stadium would stimulate the local sports industry and help boost the economy through sports tourism. Football fans would no longer need to seek entertainment outside of Sulawesi, as this stadium could become the center of exciting local and national events.
If environmental sustainability is the primary focus, converting Mandai Old Airport into a public park filled with greenery could be an ideal solution. The land could be planted with trees and transformed into a green urban space open to the public. This park would provide a recreational area for the community while serving as the "lungs" of the city, helping to reduce air pollution and contribute to environmental preservation amid rapid urban growth. Public green spaces also offer areas for relaxation, light exercise, and family gatherings, which would enhance the quality of life for residents.
A green city park would symbolize the government's commitment to environmental conservation, and such an area would promote healthier lifestyles among Makassar and Maros residents. The large green space would not only positively impact physical and mental well-being but also become a model for sustainable urban planning.
In conclusion, the revitalization of Mandai Old Airport presents a golden opportunity for the local government to improve residents' quality of life while elevating South Sulawesi’s profile on the national and international stages. Whether repurposed as an aviation museum, a modern football stadium, or a lush green park, each option holds clear, tangible benefits. It is crucial for the government to make informed decisions by considering public input and fully harnessing this site's potential to ensure a brighter, more sustainable future for South Sulawesi.ore sustainable future for South Sulawesi.)
- One Health Center, One Psychologist, One Million Recoveries Movement + (Mental health is a hot topic in the era of … Mental health is a hot topic in the era of digitalisation, an era where technology is developing so rapidly that it can change a lot of social order in society. In Dr Muhammad Faisal's book entitled Generation Back to the Roots, it is stated that the phenomenon of the current generation often prioritises itself on global trends, including lifestyle. Comparing oneself to other people's lives on social media causes low self-esteem, which can lead to mental health problems such as stress, depression and anxiety. A study mentioned that the rate of depression among young people (15-24 years old) is 6.2%. A person with severe depression has a tendency to self-harm and even commit suicide 80-90% of suicides are caused by depression and anxiety (Jauhari, M. K. P., & Arviani, H. (2023).

The government's awareness of mental health issues is still relatively low, which can be seen from policy priorities that have not optimally touched mental health aspects, such as the lack of budget allocations and limited access to mental health services in various regions. This lack of attention to mental health has a serious impact on the increasing suicide rate of young people in Indonesia. One of the main factors behind the high rate of depression that leads to suicide is the limited space for people to consult their problems. In the city of Makassar itself, accessibility to mental health services is still minimal, most recently in the city mayoral election not a single candidate put a focus on young mental health services in their vision and mission. Even though mental health issues can be a big problem when it cannot be handled seriously by the government, instead of creating a golden generation, it becomes a generation of anxiety.

A more reactive policy is needed from the government in strengthening the mental health service system, namely presenting a mentally healthy space by providing at least 1 psychologist in each health centre as a first step for the community to recognise their psychological problems. This concept can refer to the importance of a supportive environment so that individuals can feel comfortable to share their problems and can find solutions to problems experienced by professionals. Having a psychologist in every community health centre can provide great benefits to the community, especially the younger generation, by ensuring that mental health services are more widely accessible, not just limited to large hospitals. With this facility, early detection and quick intervention can be done to prevent mental disorders from getting worse. In addition, the presence of this space plays a role so that everyone has an equal opportunity to feel heard, understood, and ultimately healed from their psychological problems.

Refrensi
Jauhari, M. - “Eliminate the stigma of people with mental illness as marginalized people” + (Mental health is a key pillar of human wel … Mental health is a key pillar of human well-being in society, yet it is often overlooked compared to physical health. In fact, every individual deserves protection and support to maintain their mental balance, especially for those who experience mental disorders. An inclusive and supportive environment is instrumental in providing a safe space for them to thrive and live a meaningful life. Therefore, this paper attempts to review and accommodate the things that can be done are as follows:
1. Creating a Mental Health Friendly Environment
Increase Access to Green Spaces Research shows that the presence of green spaces such as city parks and urban forests can help reduce stress levels, improve mood, and provide a relaxing effect. Governments and communities should be more active in creating environmentally friendly public spaces, such as recreational parks, comfortable walking paths, and open areas for healthy social interaction.
2. Removing the Stigma of Mental Illness
Stigma is still a major barrier for many people to seek help. The public needs to be educated to better understand mental health through campaigns, seminars, and open discussions. In the workplace, companies can play a role by providing counseling services for employees and implementing better work-life balance policies.
3. Building a Supportive Community
Strong social connections have a huge impact on one's mental well-being. By creating an environment of empathy and togetherness, such as support groups, hobby communities, or social activities, individuals with mental illness will feel more accepted and have a place to share their stories and get moral support.
4. Limiting the Negative Impact of Social Media
In the digital age, exposure to negative information can worsen one's mental state. Therefore, it is important to build awareness in using social media wisely, limit excessive news consumption, and interact more directly with family and friends.
5. Ensure Equitable Access to Mental Health Services
Mental health services should be available to all, in terms of cost, quality, and availability of professionals. The government needs to expand psychology and psychiatry services in health facilities, and increase the number of mental health professionals to make them more accessible to the public.
Safeguarding and protecting the rights of people with mental disorders is not only an individual responsibility, but also a collective obligation. - Support for Mental Health: Responsibility Shared Responsibility + (Mental health is an important aspect of hu … Mental health is an important aspect of human life, but is still often underestimated and considered cool especially among adolescents. The phenomenon of self-diagnosis, where adolescents independently identify mental disorders without consulting professionals, is increasingly widespread and even considered as something cool or aesthetic to be exposed (Darmadi, 2022). A study found that 74.4% of adolescents had good mental health literacy, but 58.1% of them still showed a strong tendency to self-diagnose (Maskanah, 2022). In fact, mental disorders such as depression and anxiety can have a serious impact on a person's quality of life. According to the Task Force, mental and emotional problems that are not properly resolved can have a negative impact on the development of adolescents in the future (Supini et al., 2024).
Among the Bugis community, there is still a strong stigma against people who experience mental illness. Those who experience severe stress or depression are often regarded as pabbirittik, meaning weak in the face of life. In fact, mental health problems cannot be solved simply by masseddi aléna or strengthening oneself. It requires a more humane approach and real support from family and neighbours. Lack of education causes many teenagers to think of mental illness as something normal or even cool. It is important to increase understanding that mental illness is not just a trend, but a medical condition that requires serious attention. One of the educational efforts is carried out by the Omah Jiwa community, through various programmes such as mental health education, online chat services, and mental health-themed seminars and trainings. Omah Jiwa plays a role in increasing public awareness and understanding of the importance of mental health.
Removing stigma and increasing understanding of mental health is not only the responsibility of individuals, but also families, communities, and governments. With a collective effort, we can create a generation that is more aware, caring and strong in facing mental health challenges. In Bugis culture, close family relationships teach the value of Riolo'na melempu, riolo'na tenreng, which means it is better to be honest and open, so that individuals experiencing mental illness do not feel alone. However, family support alone is not enough. The community must also play an active role in creating a mentally healthy environment. The Bugis proverb Resopa temangingi, nalomo naletei pammase dewata teaches that earnest endeavour will bring blessings. By expanding mental health awareness and education, we can build a stronger, mentally healthy generation that is ready to face life's challenges.

Daftar pustaka

Darmadi, D. Anarchic incidents like muggings, illegal fees (pungli), and aggressive beggars have made many residents feel uncomfortable carrying out their daily activities. These conditions not only create insecurity but also disrupt the order and comfort of the environment.
One of the frequent issues in Makassar is the growing number of aggressive beggars, especially in tourist areas like Losari Beach. Beggars operating in public places often force visitors to give money, spoiling the atmosphere that should be pleasant. This phenomenon disturbs both tourists and local residents who want to enjoy their leisure time. To address this, local leaders need to take serious measures. One solution is to impose strict regulations regarding beggars in tourist spots. Surveillance must be enhanced, and facilities should be provided to rehabilitate beggars so they can receive social assistance and training to become self-reliant.
In addition to beggars, the practice of pungli is also a major issue that troubles the public. Pungli often occurs in various forms, such as illegal parking fees or entry tickets to free events being charged by irresponsible individuals. This practice harms the community and tarnishes the image of local government. To resolve this, future leaders must decisively combat pungli by forming special task forces to monitor such activities on the ground. The public also needs to be educated about their rights so that they are less likely to become victims of pungli.
Moreover, street crimes like muggings are among the most unsettling issues in Makassar. These crimes not only cause material loss but also trauma for the victims. To address this, local leaders should increase city security by enhancing police patrols, especially in crime-prone areas. However, the approach should not be limited to law enforcement. The government must also think of long-term solutions by providing education and training to communities that are vulnerable to engaging in criminal activities. Criminals often come from backgrounds with limited access to education or decent jobs, so improving the welfare of the community can be a solution to prevent future crimes.
Economic factors are often the main reason why people choose anarchic paths, whether by becoming beggars, engaging in pungli, or getting involved in crime. Therefore, local leaders should focus on empowering the economy of the community. Skill training programs and job creation should be expanded so that people have better alternatives for meeting their needs.
With the right policies, local governments can create a safer and more comfortable environment for their residents. Through web applications or mobile devices, users can easily access various platforms that allow them to share information, ideas and experiences with a wider community. In addition, social media is also a platform to learn new things; build social relationships; promote individuals, businesses, products, and ideas; consume, share, or participate in discussions about current news (Gramedia). With a myriad of positive impacts, it is possible that social media can have a negative impact on users.
Research reported in the journal (Chen et al., 2024) found that adolescents who use social media more than three hours per day are at high risk of mental health problems. Mental health is one of the important aspects of living life. Therefore, as a social user, we should be wise in using social media. Research reported in the journal (Chen et al., 2024) found that adolescents who use social media more than three hours per day are at high risk of mental health problems. Therefore, as a social user, we should be wise in using social media.
In today's digital era, issues related to mental health with social media as a cause have become a serious problem. Some of the issues on social media include cyberbullying, cybergrooming, outing, flaming, and cyberstalking. One problem that is increasingly being normalized by social media users today is hate speech. Hate speech is a form of expression that aims to demean and discriminate against individuals or groups, often based on racial or other aspects (Herwanto et al., 2019). Globally, the prevalence of hate speech in the USA in 2020, the FBI received reports of 8,263 hate crime incidents, up nearly 13 percent from 7,314 in 2019, privalence in the Asian region, namely hate speech on Twitter against China and Chinese citizens increased 900% in early 2020 (Comparitech). When viewed in Indonesia, according to Bawaslu, there were 74% of hate speech in the 2024 Pilkada. When compared to global prevalence and Asian prevalence, the prevalence of hate speech in Indonesia is high. This condition shows that the problem of hate speech in Indonesia is a problem that must be addressed immediately.
If traced further, there are several factors that cause hate speech on social media. The factors that cause hate speech also vary according to research (Muannas & Mansyur, 2020) on differences of opinion that lead to bullying both in real life and on social media. There is also research (Sa'idah et al., 2021) revealing the existence of environmental factors which are also triggered by envy of something that cannot be owned and because their opinions are also not accepted by others. From the research (Yesni and Kusnul 2020), the form of speech found is insulting the physicality of ses. Currently, the government has made various efforts to deal with the problem of hate speech. Starting from counseling programs on the importance of mental health, to campaigns on first aid for psychological injuries. However, the reality is that the prevalence of hate speech in Indonesia is still high. Addressing the problem of hate speech comprehensively cannot be done by the government alone. Therefore, cooperation from various parties is needed to get involved in the movement against hate speech in order to create an environment that supports mental health. One of the potential parties to be involved in this program is social media users, which refers to victims of hate speech.
A victim of hate speech is someone who becomes the object of someone else's hate speech. The victim of hate speech is chosen as the target because the victim of hate speech has the potential to become a perpetrator. Because they are often the target of hate speech, the victim's mental health becomes disturbed so that the victim also commits hate speech to others as a form of revenge. Preventing hate speech is not only from the perpetrator's perspective, but also from the victim's perspective. If the victim of hate speech knows the strategies to deal with hate speech, indirectly the risk of mental health disruption caused by hate speech can be reduced. One of the solutions that can be done when facing hate speech is "METAL". "METAL" is a solution to hate speech to prevent mental health quality from declining. "METAL" or an acronym for Forgive, Self-Evaluate, Stay Confident, Ignore, Report is a method of handling hate speech without being provocative so that there will be no change in mental health behavior. This solution is said to be non-provocative because it will not disturb the psychological state of the victim so that it will slow down the occurrence of behavior change. This "METAL" solution aims so that when experiencing hate speech the victim will not make hate speech to others so that the chain of events will be broken so as to create an environment that supports mental health. The focus on this is how victims respond to hate speech without being profocative. In addition, the moral message in this solution is that if we are treated badly then we do not have to reply with badness too, but it is better to forgive and improve to be better in the future. The implementation of "METAL" consists of several points, namely 1) Forgive, if we are victims of hate speech it is better if we forgive the person who did it to us rather than taking revenge and doing something similar to the perpetrator. 2) Self-evaluation, if someone says words that contain hate speech rather than getting angry, it is better to rethink the insults thrown by the perpetrator and use it as material for self-evaluation in the future to be better. 3) Stay confident, if you are the target of hate speech, don't feel inferior and stay confident because it could be that we are better than the perpetrator so that the perpetrator is jealous to say hate. 4) Ignore, not all forms of hate speech must be dealt with, we can just ignore it and avoid conflict and avoid heartache and live peacefully. 5) Report, if it is considered excessive then we can report the perpetrator accompanied by strong evidence. Because hate speech on social media can violate the ITE Law. The implementation of "METAL" has many benefits. In addition to breaking the chain of hate speech, this solution can also make a person develop better, increase productivity, and maintain good mental health without anxiety. Hate speech is an issue that is difficult to break the chain and is sustainable and requires the cooperation of various elements of society, including the government, health workers, and social media users. In terms of benefits, "METAL" can be implemented by all social media users. can be implemented by all social media users.)
- Enhancing Public Transportation: Reducing Traffic and Boosting Quality of Life in Maros-Makassar + (The Maros and Makassar regions hold a stra … The Maros and Makassar regions hold a strategic role in South Sulawesi, both in terms of tourism and education. With increasing mobility among residents and tourists, transportation issues have become highly crucial. One of the main problems faced is the worsening traffic congestion, especially on the connecting route between Maros and Makassar. Therefore, improving an integrated transportation system will not only reduce congestion but also have positive effects on the environment and enhance the quality of life for the community.
The traffic congestion on the Maros-Makassar route often hinders the mobility of residents and tourists. One solution that can be implemented is the development of effective public transportation, such as adding bus stops along the Maros-Makassar route. This will make it easier for Maros residents to access affordable and efficient public transportation, thus reducing reliance on private vehicles.
Better public transportation will also provide convenience for students from Maros who study at various campuses in Makassar. Currently, many Maros students are forced to rent accommodation in Makassar due to limited and time-consuming transportation access. With better public transport, students can commute without having to pay additional costs for accommodation. This will also broaden access, not only for those studying at major universities like Hasanuddin University (Unhas) or Alauddin State Islamic University (UIN), but also at other higher education institutions in the region.
In addition to reducing congestion, the development of efficient public transportation also directly contributes to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Private vehicles are one of the main sources of carbon emissions in urban areas. With more residents switching to buses or other forms of public transport, air pollution in both Makassar and Maros can be minimized. This is also a concrete step toward mitigating the greenhouse effect, which is one of the main causes of global climate change.
Local governments must prioritize the construction of bus stops along strategic routes between Maros and Makassar. This will not only reduce the number of private vehicles on the road but also decrease fossil fuel consumption, which contributes to air pollution. The positive impact will be felt not only by local residents but also by tourists visiting key attractions in Maros, such as Bantimurung National Park and Rammang-Rammang.
With better access to public transportation, commuters traveling between Maros and Makassar will experience significant benefits. They will no longer have to deal with the stress of daily traffic congestion. This will also help them stay refreshed and focused on their daily activities, including studying or working.
Students and workers who no longer need to rent accommodations in the city will find it easier to manage their time and expenses, allowing them to focus more on education or work without being burdened by transportation issues. Cases of parking attendants collecting fees without issuing tickets are concrete examples of this issue. Such practices not only harm the community but also create distrust towards law enforcement and government institutions. Candidates for local leadership need to take concrete steps to combat extortion, including implementing stricter oversight systems and educating the public about their rights.

Furthermore, community safety remains a crucial issue. The rising number of mugging incidents in Makassar shows that citizens' sense of security is still not guaranteed. Muggings not only threaten physical safety but also instill deep fear among residents. Candidates for local leadership must have strategic plans to enhance security, including strengthening cooperation with the police and empowering communities to participate in maintaining the safety of their neighborhoods.

The importance of education and skills training cannot be overlooked. Candidates for local leadership need to formulate programs focused on enhancing community skills, preparing them to face the increasingly competitive job market. By providing access to training and education, it is hoped that the community will not only rely on existing job opportunities but will also be able to create their own.

In addressing all these challenges, candidates for local leadership must be transparent and accountable. Community involvement in the decision-making process should be encouraged to ensure that citizens feel they have a role in the city's development. Through open and inclusive dialogue, local leaders can formulate policies that align with the community's needs.

This local election is a crucial moment for Makassar. - Empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as well as the development of local industries and job creation. + (The importance of the issue in the context … The importance of the issue in the context of regional heads is very significant. The issues that need to be raised by a regional head need to understand and raise issues that are relevant to the needs and aspirations of the community to create policies that are right on target. By raising important issues, regional heads can encourage active community participation in the decision-making process, increasing their sense of ownership of regional programs. Regional heads are faced with various challenges, such as poverty, unemployment, and infrastructure. These issues need to be raised and addressed seriously to achieve development goals.

Talking about issues, we need to know the term issue first. According to KBBI, an issue is news or statements that become a discussion or concern of the public; a hot topic to talk about. The definition shows that issues are related to things that attract public attention and are often the subject of discussion in society. Issues can cover a wide range of topics, including political, social, economic, and environmental.

In stepping into becoming a regional head, they must think about what issues they must develop and have an impact on the community they will lead. Priority issues which are important priorities that they will do in the future if they move forward. These issues are very important for regional heads, because the issues raised by regional heads will affect the direction of policies and programs that they will implement..

And according to an important issue that must be raised by a regional head. Here the issue of "Empowerment of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as the development of local industries and job creation". I take this issue because there are several reasons why a regional head needs to develop MSMEs in his area, including the following:
1. Regional Economic Pillar
The regional economic pillar is the main driver of the local economy. And MSMEs are the majority of gross domestic products (PBD).
2. Reduction of Unemployment
In improving MSMEs help in improving and local industries help in creating jobs, which is important to reduce the unemployment rate and improve people's welfare.
3. Skills Development and Innovation
With the development of skills and innovation, it is necessary to carry out training and skill improvement programs, which can improve the skills of the community.
4. Community Empowerment
MSMEs encourage people to more actively participate in the economy and decisions that affect them in increasing community creativity.
5. Economic Independence
Economic independence helps reduce the risk of instability caused by global market fluctuations or international crises. And improving the welfare of the community through the efforts they make.

MSMEs in a region should be a priority issue for regional heads because they have a significant impact on the economy and community welfare. MSMEs contribute more than 60% to Indonesia's GDP and provide employment for more than 90% of the workforce in the private sector. With this large contribution, support for MSMEs is an investment in economic stability and community welfare. Candidates for regional heads who understand and support the role of MSMEs will contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

There are many examples of regions that have succeeded in improving the welfare of their communities through strong support for MSMEs. For example, several cities in Indonesia that provide fiscal incentives and training programs for MSMEs have shown significant improvements in local economic growth and a decrease in the unemployment rate. This success is proof that the right support for MSMEs can bring real positive change.

The development of local industries is an effort to increase the capacity and competitiveness of industries based in an area. This is very important to encourage economic growth, create jobs, and improve people's welfare. Perhaps the development of local industries and the benefits of these industries are the same as MSMEs that create jobs, develop products and innovations, support local products, and strengthen the local economy.
The issues raised by regional heads should be carried out properly to achieve the desired development goals. These issues must be issues related to the economy, such as the development of MSMEs or local industries, if managed properly, can increase regional economic growth and job creation. Social issues that are taken seriously will contribute to improving people's welfare, reducing poverty, and improving the quality of life. Thus, it is important for regional heads to not only raise issues, but also ensure that the issues can be implemented properly to achieve maximum positive impacts on the community and the region.

MSMEs here are taken so that growth in a society can increase. Because with the empowerment of communities such as MSMEs, it is beneficial to an area. In the area that makes MSMEs, it will increase the opinion of the community.

MSMEs are also regulated in Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation giving priority to the development of MSMEs in Indonesia. In this case, the government has built a business licensing concept that is friendly to MSMEs, and provides various facilities for MSMEs to develop. This Law also regulates various aspects related to MSMEs, such as principles and proposals as well as their principles and empowerment. The principles and objectives are that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises are based on:
• Family
• Independence
• Economic democracy
• Togetherness
• Balance of progress
• Fair efficiency
• National economic unity.

With the law that regulates MSMEs, it can make it easier for a person who wants to develop these MSMEs. Especially if the MSME is one of the issues that will be raised by a regional head. And surely in its development, the head of the district will provide learning first to the community so that they can manage the MSME business and run well with the support of the government and the heads of the surrounding regions.

Continuous support for MSMEs will have a positive long-term impact on the regional and national economy. With stable and sustainable growth, MSMEs will be able to contribute more to GDP, create more jobs, and increase the competitiveness of local products in the global market. This will help Indonesia achieve more equitable and inclusive prosperity. The candidate for regional head who took up this issue hopes to be able to make small people build MSMEs which are the drivers of a more prosperous community life in meeting the daily needs of a more prosperous life

By taking the empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as well as the development of local industries and job creation. - increasingly severe traffic jams and irregular spatial planning in the city of Makassar + (The regional head candidates of Makassar C … The regional head candidates of Makassar City have a big responsibility to formulate policies that can answer the needs of their citizens and overcome various problems that have long been faced. In my opinion, there are 2 important issues that need to be a priority for the new regional head candidates so that the planning and development of Makassar in the future are more targeted. The first issue that must be a serious concern is the increasingly severe traffic congestion, especially on main roads such as Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, Jalan AP Pettarani, and Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan. The congestion that occurs in the city of Makassar is caused by the increasing number of private vehicles which continues to increase every year while the road capacity does not change to accommodate existing vehicles, the increasing population in Makassar also increases the demands of community life which also increases the volume and frequency of population activities so that there is an imbalance in road needs with population density, low levels of knowledge and traffic culture Where many road users are not orderly by going against the flow and also parking vehicles on the shoulder and body of the road, inadequate public transportation, and ineffective arrangement of heavy tonnage vehicles. One solution that can be proposed is the improvement and enhancement of public transportation, such as bus rapid transit (BRT) or the development of rail-based transportation. Prospective regional heads also need to encourage stricter policies to reduce the use of private vehicles, for example by limiting the number of new vehicles or developing an effective paid parking system so that the increasingly rampant illegal parking problem in commercial areas can be handled. In addition, improving the quality of sidewalks and bicycle lanes can be one way to encourage residents to choose to walk or cycle, as well as increasing the supply of space that can be used to accommodate new activity infrastructure.
The second issue that is no less important is the increasingly irregular spatial planning of Makassar City due to rapid urbanization. Many green areas have now been converted into housing or shopping centers without careful planning, resulting in a decline in environmental quality, such as reduced water catchment areas and increased air pollution. Prospective regional heads must have a sustainable spatial planning policy, by increasing green open spaces and strictly controlling development permits so that the balance between development and the environment is maintained.
Overall, these two main issues should be the main focus of regional head candidates in building a more advanced and prosperous Makassar City. Handling and reducing congestion, developing efficient public transportation, and more integrated spatial planning are important initial steps to improve the quality of life of the community. With a clear vision and real action, Makassar can develop into a more modern city, while still paying attention to the welfare of its citizens and preserving its environment.s citizens and preserving its environment.)

Additionally, it is frequently observed that children in South Sulawesi no longer speak their mother tongue. In fact, the most effective way to preserve regional languages is to teach them early in the family setting.
This situation is not merely a matter of poor writing or teaching; it demonstrates a disregard for legal mandates, cultural heritage, identity, and national character. Amidst the fervor of digitalization, regional languages such as Aksara Lontara are gradually fading, while bahasa Indonesia is often used incorrectly. South Sulawesi, with its rich diversity of regional languages, has significant potential to become a center for the preservation of language and literature, boasting 14 regional languages, including four major languages: Bugis, Makassar, Mandar, and Toraja, as well as ten minor languages that should be valued and preserved.
Language is the identity of a nation. Although we have achieved rapid development in recent years, there are still some people who are in difficult economic conditions. Therefore, the poverty alleviation program plan proposed by the head of Makassar is very relevant and crucial to be considered.

This poverty alleviation plan must be based on an in-depth analysis of the socioeconomic conditions of the community. Accurate and timely data on the number of poor people, the causes of poverty, and the potential of local resources should be the basis for designing effective programs. The situation in Makassar requires a comprehensive approach that not only focuses on social assistance, but also creates jobs and improves access to education and health services.

One of the strategic steps that can be taken is to develop a community economic empowerment program. These programs can include skills training, access to capital and business support for people who want to start or expand small businesses. The aim is to help communities become financially independent and escape poverty by improving skills and increasing access to resources. This also contributes to more inclusive local economic growth.

In addition, it is important to build partnerships with various parties, including the private sector, non-governmental organizations, and local communities. Building partnerships can help poverty alleviation programs become more inclusive and sustainable. For example, the private sector can play a role in job creation, and non-governmental organizations can provide education and social support. Involving all regional heads, this program will provide a wider reach and more significant impact.

Poverty alleviation programs must be integrated into sound infrastructure development policies. Access to infrastructure such as roads, electricity and clean water has a significant impact on people’s quality of life. Therefore, improvements to infrastructure in remote and underserved areas are critical to opening up new economic opportunities and improving people’s living standards. Investments in infrastructure also promote more equitable economic growth.

However, the implementation of this program is not without challenges. One of the main challenges is ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of budget funds. The public should participate in monitoring the program so that they can provide input and constructive criticism. - EVALUATION OF REGIONAL AUTONOMY: BETWEEN ENVIRONMENTAL RIGHTS OR THE RIGHTS OF THE ENVIRONMENT + (Attention to the environment is currently … Attention to the environment is currently diminishing. This is evident from human priorities, which focus solely on clothing, food, and shelter. Only a few people feel a sense of ownership towards the environment, so efforts to preserve and protect it have not been maximized. A question that may arise is why the environment should be protected. In law, protection is typically given to legal subjects. However, is the environment a legal subject that can bear rights and obligations? Regional autonomy is the answer to this issue. Regional leaders must be able to align regulations with the concept of sustainable development, including government efforts to limit the exercise of rights over the environment to protect environmental rights themselves. Current regional autonomy tends to be excessive, particularly regarding the exploitation of natural resources. Many regions with abundant natural resources exploit them to increase regional income, showing a tendency towards weak sustainability without considering environmentally conscious development principles. Consequently, environmental damage and pollution are accelerating. An example is the reclamation issue at Losari Beach, Makassar, which may have negative impacts by threatening biodiversity and lowering water quality due to sedimentation. The benefits are mostly enjoyed by investors, while fishermen and local communities are disadvantaged. Through regional autonomy, the granting of industrial and tourism permits seems to be economically oriented, highlighting the right to the environment rather than the right of the environment itself. For decades, residents of the Tallo district have suffered from drought, relying on water purchased from carts at a price of Rp8,000 to Rp15,000 per day. All this time, people have only depended on rainwater and bore wells. When the rains do not come and the bore wells dry up, the residents have no choice but to surrender and spend extra money just to access clean water. This situation doesn’t only occur in the Tallo district, but happens annually in the Manggala, Makassar, Panakkukang, and Rappocini districts, as well as in the northern and eastern parts of the city.
Makassar, which claims to be a world city, struggles with access to clean water. If this continues, the city's "world-class" status should be called into question. What is even more concerning is that this clean water issue has become a political commodity to support electoral contests, with the city's reliance on clean water from other regions (such as the Lekopancing, Bili-Bili dams). If the government is serious about addressing this, there should be concrete actions taken. The issue of clean water must be a priority for regional leadership candidates—not just political promises, but real and serious steps are needed.
As one of the city's residents, I would like to urge the candidates for local leadership to focus on solving the clean water issue. This requires improving facilities, revitalizing infrastructure, and creating urban management that supports the resolution of droughts. Such as: economic problems experienced by urban communities include: high daily living costs, difficulty paying rent, and paying bills have an impact on the increasing number of mental health disorders.
Therefore, urban areas must have green open spaces that not only function as sources of oxygen and urban aesthetics, but also as recreational facilities. Because human biology has a tendency towards nature which plays a role in improving human physical, emotional, and intellectual fitness. This means that most teenagers rely more on friends and family rather than experts.

Mental health is a condition where a person feels emotionally and psychologically well, affecting their thoughts, feelings, and actions. Unfortunately, negative stigma often prevents teenagers from opening up and seeking help. One possible solution is to create an online campaign and an educational podcast. The online campaign can feature content on stress management, the importance of talking to trusted people, and recognizing signs of mental health disorders. Meanwhile, the podcast can include psychologists, teenagers sharing their experiences, and discussions on the stigma surrounding mental health in society.

This program will actively involve students as change agents in spreading positive mental health information. Using social media as the primary platform, information can be presented in the form of short videos, infographics, and interactive discussion sessions. I think there are many things that need to be prioritized for Makassar City to become the prima donna of Eastern Indonesia.
There are several points that are important issues:
1. Environmental Issues
There are many issues related to the environment, starting from the slow handling of waste which causes flooding in several places during the rainy season, even reaching the main roads causing traffic jams, and worse, there have been riots on the toll roads because motorcyclists entered. The road repairs are not felt, traffic jams often occur in several places, there is a water crisis in some areas, and in recent years there have been rolling blackouts.

2. The Issue of Poverty and Misallocated Aid
I think this might be quite heavy, but this issue also needs to be addressed so that welfare can be built. Regarding the issue of poverty, I want to connect it with the awareness that if people are continuously spoon-fed without being given something that can improve themselves, such as skill training, creativity, or something similar, then those people will have a poverty mentality and will keep waiting to be spoon-fed. I completely agree that the social assistance given frequently is very helpful, but not with the provision of social assistance for free without any goals to achieve. Moreover, if the assistance provided is not targeted and only favors those with connections or acquaintances, it is truly ironic.

3. HR and Job Vacancies
The topic of HR and job vacancies also has important issues that need to be addressed. Where Human Resources or the quality of the community's self needs to be taken into account and supported. I think there needs to be a program created so that human resources can understand the job market, which is currently closely tied to technological developments, as well as a program that can open up job opportunities because there are many people out there who are struggling and even becoming desperate about employment.

I think that issue needs to be prioritized in the city of Makassar, and solutions need to be provided along with actions taken.
At the very least, there needs to be a platform to listen to grievances or provide mutual feedback regarding what the community experiences and what the government does, so that quick responses can be created. The aim of national development in the field of education is to make the nation's life more intelligent and improve the quality of human resources. One effort to implement this goal is for the government to issue educational policies that are in line with scientific developments. If you look at the current education phenomenon, it is very complex in terms of the problems that occur starting from several remote areas or perhaps even coastal areas that have not been touched by development. Starting from the problem of inadequate teaching staff, curriculum and facilities. Apart from that, there are many cases of bullying and sexual harassment which give the image that the school environment is currently a scary place for the people in it. Even though it is important, its implementation and implementation can be said to be far from being realized so that it has a broad and sustainable impact in various aspects. Therefore, investment in improving the quality of education must be a top priority for the government, especially regional head candidates, to ensure that every individual has the same opportunity to develop and develop. contribute to the progress of society.

Unequal access is one of the biggest challenges in several areas, especially in South Sulawesi. Even in one of the areas directly bordering Makassar City, which is not considered far from this big city, there are still schools that have not been touched by development, both in terms of teaching staff and facilities. Many children in remote areas have to travel long distances just to reach school. Even in big cities, educational problems are not spared, for example, the number of school dropouts has reached very high numbers in several big cities, causing an increasing number of children at an early age to become street children or even involved in criminal cases. This is an illustration that education is still very far from the actual concept, therefore as a regional head candidate you must ensure that every child regardless of their socio-economic background has equal access to education.

Education, as a fundamental right, should not just be an echo during political events. But this is the government's main responsibility in fulfilling the right to education as regulated by the state, even in religion, it is mandatory for humans to seek knowledge. - Expensive Education and Decommercialization: Quality decreases and is shackled + (Expensive Education and Decommercializatio … Expensive Education and Decommercialization: Declining Quality and Shackling

Education plays a central role in the lives of individuals and societies. The importance of education lies in its ability to equip everyone with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to face life's challenges, both at the personal and collective levels. Good education helps create a generation that is more critical, innovative, and adaptive to global change. Socially, education also plays a major role as a tool to reduce inequality. With equal access to education, everyone, regardless of socio-economic background, has an equal opportunity to succeed. Education not only improves the quality of life of individuals, but also strengthens the economic foundation of a country, because an educated workforce is more productive, creative, and able to contribute significantly to economic growth.
Ededeeh but in that article, what happens in the field is very different, education which should be a basic right for every child is now increasingly out of reach, especially for those who are in vulnerable conditions. The phenomenon of commercialization of education, which has given rise to expensive education costs, has worsened this condition, so the rich can go to good schools, while underprivileged children go to inadequate places, with the mindset that "the important thing is school". I don't know if knowledge is obtained or not, but the quality of schools must also be improved and not discriminated against. The condition of commercialization of education has worsened this condition. In the city of Makassar, the number of children dropping out of school (APS) increasingly reflects this injustice. In 2023, the Makassar City Education Office recorded that 2,240 children dropped out of elementary school and 1,055 at junior high school. These figures are clear evidence that high costs in education contribute to increasing APS rates. In addition, vulnerable groups such as street children in Makassar City face increasingly complex challenges. Not only are education costs expensive, but also factors of life instability, lack of family support, and poverty are the main barriers for them to get a decent education. This increasingly commercialized education system does not seem to provide a solution for marginalized groups. Instead of eradicating poverty through education, they are actually increasingly trapped in a cycle of poverty and limited access to quality education. By involving collaboration between the government, community and private sector to establish learning centers in various areas, especially in vulnerable environments. Rapid population growth has led to an increase in the volume of waste, which if not managed properly, can threaten public health and damage the environment. In this context, the role of regional leaders is very important in managing waste problems that have an impact on public health. Waste that is not managed properly can cause various health problems, such as the spread of infectious diseases, water pollution, and decreased air quality. Therefore, regional leaders must play an active role in formulating and implementing effective waste management policies. With visionary and responsive leadership, regional leaders can reduce the negative impacts of waste on public health, create a clean and healthy environment, and encourage long-term environmental sustainability. By carrying out these roles effectively, regional leaders in Makassar can not only address the problem of waste that has an impact on public health, but also create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable city. - Terrace Philosophy: The Art of Managing the Mind creates a Healthy Mentality + (In a life full of stress that makes us fee … In a life full of stress that makes us feel mentally tired and interferes with our daily activities, therefore it is important to have a strategy to maintain mental health. The core philosophy which is rooted in stocoism written by Henry Manampiring teaches us the dichotomy of control, focusing on what can be controlled and accepting what is not under control. Because in reality, trouble does not come from externally but from our thoughts or perceptions. And the good news is that we have the power to change those thoughts and perceptions without changing what is in harmony with nature. By understanding boundaries, we can avoid unnecessary stress and do something more meaningful for life. The core philosophy makes us aware that negative emotions are the result of our representation of an unpleasant event, so we automatically feel like the person who is most hurt, unfair and wronged. And finally negative emotions begin to emerge, feelings of anger, revenge, jealousy and so on, which of course hinder activities because of negative feelings. If we pay attention, it is not the event that makes us feel anxious but our own interpretation and we have control over the automatic interpretation or perception with rational thought. The core philosophy has a strategy for dealing with unpleasant events so as not to make us enter a vicious circle with S-T-A-R (Stop) allowing us to stop for a moment feeling negative emotions, (Think & Asses) after stopping the emotions for a moment then think rationally and assess the feelings according to the dichotomy of control, (Respond) after thinking rationally and assessing, it's time for action, it is hoped that the action chosen fairly will not harm others and yourself. It needs to be underlined that the way core philosophy works does not mean to trick or suppress basic human nature but rather to lead to reality which will actually form a tougher and healthier mentality. Because managing thoughts and actions wisely is part of creating an environment that supports mental health.ng an environment that supports mental health.)
- Flood Management and Abandoned Facilities in Makassar + (In my opinion, flood management in Makassa … In my opinion, flood management in Makassar is still a big challenge. Even though Makassar is known as a city that rarely rains, when heavy rain falls, even for less than half an hour, the streets are immediately flooded up to ankle level. This can cause several areas, including housing, to be quickly submerged in water, which ultimately disrupts people's daily activities and has the potential to damage property. Meanwhile, many facilities in the city of Makassar are neglected. Many innovations have been created but unfortunately they do not work well or only function temporarily, such as the Lego-lego area on Jalan Metro Tanjung Bunga, which should be a comfortable public space for relaxing, but is now unable to function and is left as it is. Likewise, the bus stops are damaged and the pedestrian bridges are dirty and full of rubbish, which makes them uncomfortable for the public to use. The non-functioning of these facilities adds to the problem, because people do not have good alternatives to move around the city and has the potential to increase traffic jams. One of the main problems is the lack of a stadium that meets FIFA standards, which is crucial for supporting the development of football and providing a proper venue for official matches. As we know, the pride of Makassar, Mattoangin Stadium, has been demolished due to plans for renovation by the government, but so far, there has been no clear progress. In addition, the existing swimming pools do not meet FINA standards, making it difficult for swimmers to train optimally. The training fields are also inadequate and far from FIFA standards, which certainly affects the quality of training and athlete development in various sports. The lack of these facilities hinders the potential of sports in the city and makes it difficult for local athletes to compete at the national and international levels. Just look at South Sulawesi's position in the PON Sumut standings, which is far below expectations. The Department of Food Crops, Horticulture and Plantations (DTPH-Bun) of South Sulawesi recorded 8,563 hectares of rice fields that failed due to the disaster.

Persistent crop failure is a devastating blow to farmers. They lose their main source of livelihood, are threatened with poverty, and are forced to leave their hometowns to seek a better life in the city. However, the dream of a better life in the city is often dashed. Instead of getting a decent job, they have to struggle with fierce competition for jobs, live in crowded neighborhoods, and face various other social problems.

While competition for decent jobs is fierce, the wages offered are not commensurate with the high cost of living. As a result, many rural migrants are trapped in low-paying odd jobs. For example, the city of Makassar has the highest number of unemployed people in South Sulawesi. Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, the unemployment rate in Makassar City is declining. However, this is not in line with the poverty rate, which has been increasing for the last three years.

So the question is, what kind of prosperous life is expected? Does life in the city really promise prosperity? Meanwhile, conditions in the village no longer allow people to be able to get a decent life. If this is allowed to continue, it will not be surprising if many villages eventually become dead villages, while urban areas are increasingly swelling, causing various problems that are far from prosperous.

What should be done?

The government, in this case as the frontline, must immediately take concrete actions to overcome this problem. WHO data (2022) shows that more than 1 billion people worldwide live with mental disorders, increasing every year. In Indonesia, 1 in 3 teenagers experience mental health issues (UNICEF, 2023). Unfortunately, stigma and a lack of understanding about mental health often make people reluctant to seek help, ultimately affecting their overall quality of life. Therefore, creating a supportive environment for mental health is no longer just an option but an urgent necessity. A mental health-friendly environment should start with oneself, extend to those closest to us, and eventually become a shared responsibility.
